The only thing US football has is money. The vast majority of people don't know it and don't care. it does well at junior level then dies as kids switch to American football, basketball and baseball. Can't see anything changing soon despite some modest gains in the last decade by very hardworking people. But it just doesn't cut the mustard with the populous. Asia is a much better proposition to grow the game . China of course, Vietnam has 70 mill odd people, Cambodia, Thailand are all football savvy. Chelsea is doing particularly well in SE Asia and dipped its toe into Indonesia, which is number 4 or 5 in the world, population wise.You might get more for tickets in the USA, but Asia will dwarf the US for income in 10 years.
