It brings me great pleasure to announce that we are now 2nd in the Premier League Form table, and it is with grateful thanks to our management team of Franco & Curt for this achievement, and in turning our season around, well done to all concerned, WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!.................... I dont think we have seen the true style of football that Guido likes to play yet as I think his job was all about keeping us up. Now thats been acheived.......
I'm a big fan of Guido and think many fans expect too much too soon, he took over a team that was destined for relegation and made us a likely mid table team. A lot of fans are showing lack of respect and gratitude IMO
I agree, he came in at a dark moment, and has overseen a change in fortunes, and form, both Franco & Curt make a great team in my humble opinion, I hope we give him another season at least............
He proved me wrong today. I'll admit that i didn't think he was capable of making us play this way. If we were to play like this week in, week out, I'd be happy to keep him as manager. However, we need to play like this for the rest of the season to change my mind on him.
To be fair to Franco, he's only been here 2 minutes, and he has done his remit, he deserves respect for that, and I hope Huw gives him a full term next season, I like the guy...........
"I remember the first performance at Everton, the first half was very good, and we played well against Crystal Palace at home, but this is the best. "I'm very happy because it's my team, this is my team. "My opinion is we can play in this way since a long time but I am a new manager and I needed to know my players, all my players. "Today I saw my team play very well, with aggression, with quality." - Guideline Prior to the match, Guidolin said he planned to discuss a new contract with chairman Huw Jenkins once Swansea had guaranteed their Premier League survival..........
As I said in another thread, his remit was to keep us up. Now seemingly that this objective is done, he can revert to what he is renowned for, fast attacking play. Yes he played it "safe" towards the end, but that seems to be a bit like the norm for Italians. Now he`s seen what we are capable of he might loosen the shackles a bit more. Still, I suppose options are still wide open for his and our futures, I`d say keep him on a rolling contract for next season.
I dunno if any of you watch the press conferences on YouTube, he's been questioned many times about the style and formation and he's stated that he's gonna set up the team to get points not performances and the team are playing with nerves that hinders attacking football. He said that they will play with more freedom once he feels they're safe and I think now well start seeing the real Guido style. If today's anything to go by then I'm excited.
I just hope if he is staying that he was under strict instructions as part of his coming here to get us safe with a defensive strategy and that he has a lot more to show us in attacking football when let off the leash and utilising his contacts to replace the poor quality players like gomiss. And with a good few bob to spend i hope he can become one of the greatest managers we ever had which is a win win for us ! But if he carries on next season the way he has with his defending park the bus poor sub decisions plus some bad buys in the transfer market then he will be judged then with a bit more of a track record here. I hope he succeeds in uniting us all.
The summer is going to be exciting for us with the Yanks on board as well, cannot wait to see the improvements and changes, never a dull moment being a Jack.......
wait and see there should be better performances now the pressures off, no more gomis please give one of the under 21s a run out instead
