Swansea Council. Are going to spend millions of pounds in transforming the City centre . Good on them, but
I have to remember the terrible decisions that past Councils have taken over the years.
Who remembers the Mumbles Railway, the OLDEST RAILWAY IN THE WORLD ? They scrapped it.
Swansea Council not long ago was hailed as one of the most welcome places for immigrants.
Not long ago we had the disaster of the Bendy Buses, ......... they had been scrapped somewhere in England. ......... and what now? They are building bloody houses everywhere, traffic now is a nightmare, it will be gridlock before long, and what about Doctor Surgeries then, ? It's hard enough to get appointments now, without the probable increase in populations. God help us.
In Gorseinon they are building a new School, all the Local people were against the location the Counci had decided to build, but the Council said to hell with it we will have it our way. ..... They decided to take away half of Gorseinon Park, which included two mini football pitches for the Kids. Next to it is Gorseinon Hospital, and the parking is horrendous now. What will it be like when the School is complete.?
Behind the School is an Old People's Home, who had a great view all across the playing field and Park.
Their view now will be the back of the School, With maybe A lot of noise. ...... There were other sites on common ground available , But NO What a bloody shambles.

I think most councils are the same. Pay lip service by inviting views from the public and then do what they want to do anyway.
