With the proposed closure of the Swansea Coastguard, what could have happened here if it was already closed ? Really it's utterly pathetic that it's even being considered, and lives are being put at risk, yes the inshore lifeboat from Porthcawl did the work, but the local knowledge and the fact that they have helped in this rescue only underlines the fact that it's political decision to close it! Sorry it's not football related but this is important for Swansea and all of the Bristol Channel, the coastguard could be there in less than 30 minutes in Porthcawl , if they were to come from Milford you can add at least another hour on that ! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-15133301
