Yes, it was a grim result for us all from Herts., but the general opinion from all was that it was one of those days, and no team would have lived with them. Swansea did well last weekend holding Tottenham to a goal-less draw away from home. But their woes in front of goal once again came to the fore. Paul Clement’s men managed to score just once during their 5 Premier League games this season, which was in the 2-0 away win at Crystal Palace. Then they have a pair of away draws and two home defeats in their bag. On the other hand, Watford made an encouraging start to the season after picking 2 wins and 2 draws from their first four matches. However, the team managed by Marco Silva must be able to shrug off the humbling and regroup, especially when Swansea are a team not in the same class of Pep Guardiola’s men. Swansea vs Watford: Head-to-head The last four Premier League meetings between the sides were too close to call and only produced 3 goals in total. One has been a goal-less draw with the remaining three won by home side by a 1-0 margin, Watford twice and Swansea once. Injury News: There's positive news from the treatment room this week as Performance Director Gavin Benjafield confirms that defender Sebastian Prödl is progressing quicker than expected. "He is now at the introductory stage of field rehabilitation and being monitored closely and will move from field rehabilitation to re-integrating with the team in the near future," said Benjafield. That doesn't suggest he will be fit for Saturday. WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD-ENJOY THE GAME
Great to see you with us Mex and tx in advance for the WBA match thread to come. OFH a break well deserved and I think you owe us 3 points from your travels do you not? Interesting game tomorrow. Will we react well and get a win or be a bit on edge and struggle? Like most I think we carried on playing last week even as we suffered. I'm quite optimistic. Obviously the manager has a big role to play and maybe being away from home might help. I think a vocal travelling faithful might also play their part. So 1-3 to the golden boys. Enjoy one and all
Thanks to Mex and Fez who will be doing the next two threads. Looking around other boards they can be very extensive, or minimal. It doesn't matter, it is just a means of of expressing hopes or worries, and providing a commentary on a game for those who are out of touch.
Least it will be a more even match (even Gibbsy says last week 6-0 lost was a bit of a freak) And maybe we can get the rub of the green with decisions... Mind you anymore injuries in defence and there might be issues. Wearing our new away kit tomorrow - bit like Middlesbrough's home kit last season. Lets hope that isn't an omen!
I thought it was interesting that the gaffer said "It is important to us that we play our game, with our ideas and philosophy". I think we saw that last week as we plugged away even when 4-5-6 nil down. It would have been easy, as we saw last year, to play deep only to pump the ball forward to see it immediately coming back at us. Also wondering if he will put Denno on from the start? I can see the big man holding it up and then laying it off to Richarlison - scarry for any defence. Excitment building. C'mon u'orns.
I'll wish the Golden Boys good luck today now - won't be around to watch/listen this afternoon. For more years that I can remember, I've had an odd little liking for watching quaintly/unusually named football teams. I'm not enough of an anorak to go out of my way to watch them, but, when the opportunity arises, I take it. Today's Scottish Cup First Round has given me the opportunity up here to cross another name off my list, so I'm off to watch Hawick Royal Albert.
Can't stand the tension, especially not being there today.... I'm off to the cinema to take my mind off it - Kingsman: The Golden Circle. That should do it.
Afternoon all, looking for the team to continue with same positive approach. Shame about Chalobah, what does " a knock in training" actually mean, it comes across as an understatement, I bashed my knee yesterday but I have been digging the garden this morning, time to rest the knee a bit now though.
