Swansea v Preston Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Swansea.com Stadium Date - 22 December 2023 Kick off - 7:45pm Following their disappointing 1-2 home defeat against Middlesbrough, next up for caretaker Head Coach Alan Sheehan’s stuttering Swans, is another home fixture against a Preston team battling hard for a Play-Off spot. Last Saturday, Samuel Silvera struck late on as Middlesbrough ended their three-game losing run by beating the Swans. Sam Greenwood put Boro ahead in the final stages of the first half before Jamal Lowe's header on 59 minutes made it 1-1. But substitute Silvera netted from a free-kick following a mistake from Carl Rushworth to inflict a first defeat on caretaker boss Alan Sheehan's Swans. Swansea sit 18th while Boro are 13th. Whilst the Swans were losing to Boro, Vakoun Bayo scored twice as Watford came from behind to record a thumping 5-1 win at Preston in the Championship. The Hornets made it three victories in their last five after Will Keane had touched in the opening goal for the hosts in the first half. Bayo headed in the equaliser just before the break against a Lilywhites side that has won just one of their past seven home games. Watford opened up in the second half as Matheus Martins, Edo Kayembe, Bayo again and Ismael Kone all found the net. Preston went into the game with renewed hopes of climbing back into the top six having won four points from away games at Norwich and Huddersfield. In the 70 matches played over the last 98 years, the Swans have won 28 times, the Lilywhites 24 with 18 draws. In the corresponding fixture last season, the Swans ran out 4-2 winners: Turning to Friday evening, Swans fans will be delighted to learn that their favourite referee - NOT - Bobby Madley will be the man in the middle….. The Swans, having failed in their quest to prise Chris Davies from Spurs, will again be under the guidance of Alan Sheehan: indeed, the rumour mill is suggesting that he could be appointed until the end of the season …… Yet another ‘master class’ from the Yanks in how to effectively and efficiently run a Football Club ……. Preston have been impressive on the road this season and I think that they will run out comfortable 3-1 winners. Hope I’m wrong

As for us the bell end whho is manager did a press interview yesterday which has united the support...... against him, he's a div, never his fault. Last Saturday was dire especially the rugby union style kick off we conceded in 14 seconds, he's under pressure doesn't play the most creative player in the squad, he needs to be removed. Last two times I've been we have let in four a repeat of that and he's toast
They're not completely crap yet so they must have a win or 2 left in the locker to end the year ? Patino hat trick would be nice
3-0 to us and Madley's taken off half way through the match after the officials discover he's a +wa+, never to officiate again.
Thanks Taff , I've missed the place but life's got in the way of many things for recently .Nice to be remembered though and I do hope you're fit and well
I’m fascinated by where the optimism is coming from regarding this match - a few of you predicting a win for the Swans !!! Not me. No woke nonsense here. 0-4.
No optimism from me! Been there, done that, got ripped off with the t-shirt. As for everyone else, don't ruin their delusion, it's a coping mechanism
Congratulations hope all goes well for the mother and family.now a great grandfather who's 2 tomorrow ,it's nice to have a barrier between us with my son now taking up the slack as a grand father
