Swansea v Hull Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Swansea.com Stadium Date - 13 September 2025 Kick off - 3pm Following their deserved 2-0 away win over Sheffield Wednesday, next up for Alan Sheehan’s Swansea squad is a home match against Hull City. A fortnight ago, the Swans claimed a deserved victory at Hillsborough as goals from Zan Vipotnik and Ronald ensured that the Owls remained without a league win this season. Vipotnik struck for the third time in as many games in all competitions before teeing up a late second goal from Brazilian winger Ronald. The Slovenian international Vipotnik had been linked with a move away from Wales but the Swans opted to retain him whilst also adding Celtic striker Adam Idah to their ranks. Against Wednesday, Vipotnik had been handed his first league start of the season, and he ran on to Zeidane Inoussa's pass to drill the ball past Wednesday keeper Ethan Horvath at the near post for the Swans’ opener The away team eventually made sure of their first away success of the season when Vipotnik feigned to shoot before feeding Ronald, whose cool finish gave Horvath no chance. Whilst the Swans were beating the Owls, Emil Riis was scoring a brace as Bristol City moved into the Championship play-off places with a 4-2 win over Hull City at Ashton Gate. Joe Gelhardt put Hull in front early on before Riis levelled with his first goal for the Robins and Gerhard Struber's side never looked back. Anis Mehmeti completed the turnaround before Riis scored again before the break. Max Bird sealed the points for the hosts, firing home from close range, before Kyle Joseph netted a consolation in stoppage time. The Swans have played the Tigers on 86 previous occasions, winning 34, losing 31 and drawing 21. Arguably, the most memorable fixture played between the teams was in 2003 when the Swans triumphed 4-2 to secure their FL status at the expense of Exeter: In last season’s corresponding fixture the Swansea ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a ‘fortuitous’ penalty award that was drilled home by Vipotnik. Turning to Saturday, Swans fans will be eager to see if Alan Sheehan gives debuts to the new recruits signed just before the transfer window closed: Idah and Benson in particular are expected to make their bows, possibly off the bench. Given that this is arguably the strongest Swans squad since relegation from the PL, anticipation levels haff be e increased amongst the Jack Army although it is probable that it will take a few games before the new recruits are ‘bedded in’. That said, I think that the Swans will run out 3-1 winners.
Thanks Taff. Hopefully we won't get a dose of the post international break blues. I think we will keep a clean sheet, so it's a 2-0 win for me.
A great match thread Taff, really looking forward to this one more than I can say. I’m really rubbish at predicting scores but on this I echo yours with a 3-1 win for us
Unfortunately, I won’t be there on Saturday as my wife and I are having a long weekend in Mallorca: flying from Bristol at 6:05 tomorrow, back Tuesday around midday
Have a good trip mate, ain’t been there ever. Hopefully we will get the result in now, be thinking of you in the sun and me in the rain lol
Cheers Taff, have a great time away Anticipation levels are indeed high here and it's just possible things will come together in a celebration of potent attacking football If I can't dream now, then when can I? I'm going for a 3 - 0.
So can we brush aside the post international blues? We have to get at least two goals as the Ex-Swansea player curse may bight with Oli coming back? We will see if it was a mistake not get him back. I am happy we looked elsewhere.
Wow, it’s nice to see such optimism here. All we need now is the Libertarian to come and put everyone back in their place.
