Swansea City v Hull City Competition - Sky Bet Championship Date - 27 April 2019 Kick off - 3pm Venue - Liberty Stadium Following their deserved 1-0 victory over relegated Ipswich, next up for Graham Potter’s Swansea squad is a home match against Hull City. After beating Rotherham in an entertaining (rather than Thrilling !) affair, the Swans were desperate to halt their run of seven successive defeats away from home, their worst ever sequence in the Championship and their worst away form since 2001 when they lost eight on the spin in League One. Thankfully, the Swans ended their losing sequence of Championship away defeats with a 1-0 win at already relegated Ipswich Town. The win ensured maximum points over the Easter weekend for Graham Potter's side whose poor away form has likely ended their hopes of a play-off berth. Wayne Routledge scored the winner just before the hour after Daniel James struck the post with a 20-yard shot. Whilst the Swans were beating Ipswich, upcoming opponents Hull City were being thumped by Sheffield United who took a giant step towards winning promotion to the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 victory. The Blades are now three points clear of third-placed Leeds United after Marcelo Bielsa's side were beaten by Brentford in Monday’s late kick off. With a superior goal difference, one victory from their remaining two fixtures - against Ipswich Town and Stoke City - is likely to be enough to confirm Sheffield United's promotion. David McGoldrick was left unmarked to powerfully head in John Fleck's outswinging corner to give the Blades an early lead against Hull, and the Republic of Ireland international doubled their advantage with a stunning 25-yard effort midway through the first half. Enda Stevens headed in fellow full-back George Baldock's cross three minutes before half-time to put Chris Wilder's side in firm control of their promotion push. Whenever the Swans play Hull, thoughts inevitably turn to the fixture in May 2003 when the Swans secured their Football League status with a fine 4-2 victory at the Vetch Field: Turning to Saturday, I think that the Swans will run out 3-1 victors. If results go the Swans’ way, their unlikely Play-off push will continue to flicker
I missed the last three games so I'm looking forward to the next three regardless of how we get on , but I expect two home wins and a draw at Blackburn will be the final tally
2-1 win for me, though this could well be a draw, lets hope we clear maximum points these last 3 games.............................
I would like to sneak into the playoffs but not go up as I think Dai has said we would be completely unprepared and be the whipping boys. TBH I can't see us winning the next three, it's a tough ask and that may well not be good enough anyway. 2-2
The only reason I'd like to see us go up is so I can watch the games We would of course be whipping boys and watching us fight relegation week in week out would not be fun (as it wasn't the last time). The ****s would be delirious though
Us and up and them down hmmm now that would be funny ,remember the game against Scunthorpe when Adkins was their manager . http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/8205360.stm
McBurnie again, he's now on 21 goals for the season, what a lad this boy is!..........................
