    Swansea City v Bristol City

    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Venue - The Liberty Stadium
    Date - 27 February 2021
    Kick off - 15.00

Following their battling 1-0 victory over a buoyant Coventry City side that had beaten Brentford in their previous match, next up for Steve Cooper’s promotion chasing squad is a home game against Bristol City.

On Wednesday evening, the Swans returned to winning ways and maintained the pressure on the top two in the race for automatic promotion in the Championship with a hard-fought win over a resolute Coventry City.

Ben Cabango put the hosts in front on 54 minutes from close range as he headed home a Conor Hourihane corner.

Swansea were never at their best but saw out the contest fairly comfortably.

The win kept Swansea fourth, just a point from second but with two games in hand, while Coventry remain 20th.

The previous evening, newly appointed Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson watched his new side end a run of six straight Championship defeats with an impressive win at Middlesbrough.

Famara Diedhiou's brace - a header and a coolly-placed right-foot shot - and Nahki Wells' superb solo run and finish had the visitors 3-0 ahead before half-time.

Dael Fry did manage to pull a goal back for Boro with 10 minutes left but they were unable to undo the damage from a dominant first-half display by the Robins.

Victory was City's first in the league since the end of January and their first away from home since 1 December.

The Swans have played the Robins on 70 previous occasions, winning 21, drawing 21 and losing 28.

In the corresponding fixture last season the Swans ran out 1-0 winners:

Turning to Saturday, both teams will have been buoyed by midweek victories, and I’m expecting a close encounter. Whilst I’m hoping the Swans win, I’m expecting a 1-1 draw <cheers>

Before Nigel Pearson arrival I would have you guys down for a easy win.

But something changed when NP arrived as manager that team completely changed in their ways. Clearly they were not playing for Dean Holden.
At Boro it was like watching a different team play.
Pearson stayed up in the stands and watched.
Saturday he takes charge of his first game for me I’m going for a win Swans 1 city 2.We have finally got ourselves a top proven and experienced manager on board-hopefully the piece of the jigsaw to take Bristol City onwards and upwards.

Can't argue with that based on current form. So it's up to us to sort it out.

    I don't fancy this game. Think we'll lose 0-1.

It's a nice sunny day with the temperature going up. We play better when it's sunny. 2-0, things will click.

Swansea City will be without Ryan Bennett as the defender recovers from the calf injury he suffered in the defeat at Huddersfield.

Steve Cooper is hopeful of having Kyle Naughton available after he had to come off against Coventry on Wednesday night.

Matt Grimes has shaken off his shoulder problem, but Brandon Cooper, Wayne Routledge, Jordan Morris, Steven Benda, Liam Cullen and Tivonge Rushesha are all sidelined.
