Swansea City v Brentford Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Liberty Stadium Date - 22 October 2019 Kick off - 19.45 Following their hard fought point at Barnsley, next up for the Swans is a home match against mid-table Brentford. At Oakwell, Barnsley and Swansea were forced to settle for a point each in an entertaining encounter at Oakwell. Ayew's header on 70 minutes gave the Swans the lead but they were pegged back within 180 seconds as Alex Mowatt levelled for the hosts with a calm finish after a quickfire break. Both goalkeepers made key saves and both sides missed excellent chances. Despite the point Barnsley slip to bottom of the Championship, while Swansea sit third currently. Barnsley are now winless in 13 games against Swansea in all competitions. Whilst the Swans were drawing with Barnsley, Brentford were scoring three late goals to complete a dramatic turnaround against Millwall at Griffin Park. Millwall looked in control at 2-0 up six minutes from full-time after Tom Bradshaw and Jed Wallace had scored. Josh Dasilva netted what looked like a consolation goal for the Bees in the 84th minute, finding the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Bryan Mbeumo found the equaliser after 88 minutes, curling the ball in off the bar with a superb strike. And Mbeumo set-up Ollie Watkins for a dramatic winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time, as the forward tapped home from inside the six-yard box. In the corresponding Championship match last season, the Swans ran out comfortable 3-0 winners Turning to Tuesday, I can see nothing other than a 1-1 draw
Sadly Taff I tend to agree with your 1-1 prediction. I won't be here for the result as off to Beijing tomorrow. Who knows by the time I come back the Swans will have back to back wins and Wales will be in the final of the RWC
Have a great time Glam! I went to the Gnoll to watch Neath v Maesteg Quins ..... a very sad occasion. My last visit to watch Neath at the Gnoll was (unbelievably) 21 years ago - the difference was incredible.... I stopped going when the WRU took over ...
The club cannot afford to keep dropping points at home and tonight is our chance but so was the last time and the time before that. I dont think the side he has chosen tonight is the strongest and i would make at least 2 changes myself, But you never know they might play good.....We must win this one to give the players some confidence going into the match against Cardiff. Another home draw or worse a loss will give Cardiff the confidence to come to the liberty and turn us over...COYS...
Good finish that by the Brentford lad. Look at the difference with the two sides, Swans lethargic going forward and Brentford attack with purpose and they get rewarded with a goal.
Cooper has lost the respect of the fans and they will be calling for his sacking if he dont sort the home form out...We should be a minimum 7 points clear easily but for Cooper's home tactics.....If he dont sort it out double quick He will be shown the door......Not good enough.
