    Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers

    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Date - 23 October 2018
    Kick off - 19.45
    Venue - Liberty Stadium

Following a second straight defeat, this time at the hands of Aston Villa, next up for Graham Potter’s Swansea squad, is a home match against Blackburn Rovers.

On Saturday, the day when Villa officially marked last week's death of former chairman Sir Doug Ellis, on-loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham made it a happy start to Dean Smith's new era by getting the only goal of the game.

From Ahmed Elmohamady's eighth-minute right-wing cross, Abraham rose highest to head home from close range against the club where he spent last season on loan - our former players always seem to score against us.

It was a fourth goal in seven games for Abraham - and he might have had more.

Swansea keeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt - who had also done well to save Albert Adomah's deflected shot on 28 minutes - denied Abraham a second on 62 minutes, shortly after the striker had headed over from three yards.

Potter maintained his growing ‘reputation’ as a tinker man, amongst others giving a debut to Harries and recalling Olsson.

Whilst the Swans were losing at Villa Park, Blackburn Rovers win a frenetic contest at Ewood Park against Leeds United.

The hosts led inside two minutes when former Swans, Danny Graham headed Harrison Reed's corner past goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Leeds, backed by more than 7,700 travelling supporters, equalised from the last play of an end-to-end first half with a superb team move started by Samuel Saiz and finished by Mateusz Klich.

Both teams created chances after the break, but the winner came from another set-piece delivery when Darragh Lenihan nodded home to give Rovers victory.

Following these results, Blackburn have risen to 7th in the Championship on 21 points, whilst the Swans have fallen to 15th with 17 points.

Swansea and Blackburn have played each other on 39 occasions, with Swansea winning 13, losing 22 and drawing 4.

The last time they met at the Liberty was for a PL fixture in April 2012, and the Swans ran out 3-0 winners, thanks to goals from Siggurdsson, Dyer & Dann (og).

Turning to Tuesday evening, Potter will be desperate to get the show back on the road with a win. However, they will be facing a Blackburn side that is full of confidence, especially after their win over Leeds. I’m hoping that we can get a point in a 1-1 draw, but wouldn’t be surprised to see us go down 1-2. What we can expect, for sure (!), is a goal from Danny Graham ... <cheers>

    Another superb write up taff.Thanks.

We know what we need.Goals, but without striker power we are not likely to get them.

    I'll take a point now.

We desperately need someone to start taking the limited chances we create.

Can Potter stop ****ing around with the team and start picking a regular 11 so they can build an understanding with each other going for a draw.

If we don’t, then we be fooked!!

Oh stop picking ****ing Nordfelt and get Mulder back inbetween the sticks for **** sake!!

I’d like to see us line up with:

    Mulder
    Olsson
    Rodon
    MVH
    Roberts
    Fer
    Celina
    Fulton
    James
    Byers
    Ollie

We've got two home games now. If Potter can get a grip and be more positive and we get one win at least then it could be a good confidence boost but he needs to have a better idea of what he actually wants going forward and stick to it. Some of his selections are odd when other, possibly better suited players, are just sidelined. You could argue that although Potter's very experienced as a manager, he's got a much tougher job now and is still learning at this level.

The fans deserve some respite from the ****storm the ****s have inflicted on us. I need the joy of a win now and again too!

I sense the mood of the supporters is changing after one win in seven matches, I think the next two games are vital for Potter and the team to get some points on the board and halt the bad run. Already there is some unrest with his puzzling team selections and formations and constant chopping and changing of players each game.

Join the Groovy Gang? Do you mean you are actually going to go to a game rather than read about it in the Western Fail?

Yet another game we should win but without a striker we can rely on then it is in the lap of the gods.......We should be 9 points further on with the amount of shots off target we have had if we had a good striker who can hit the target more consistent.......All the good football is being wasted by the front players inability to put pressure on the oppositions keeper.....Potts will fix this in January and the strikers we have now will drop down the pecking order where they will have to try harder than what they are.......Hope we win tonight to reach the 20 point mark which will be satisfactory for a new side.....

Not consistent enough, we need much better i'm afraid......But I dont agree with the trolls on social media slagging him off though.....No player deserves that abuse....
