Over your years supporting Swansea City who have you taken against and what were your reasons for it?

    I'll kick us off.
Kenny Jackett - yes, I know he deserves credit for getting us out of League 2 in time to move into our new stadium...bit of an irrational one maybe.
But I could never take to him. I feel Flynn's signings of Trundle and Leon were far more instrumental in our promotion.
Most of all I remember feeling frustrated. Even then it was clear that we were most comfortable with the ball at our feet and on the deck. Sometimes we were on top and clearly had the better footballers but couldn't score. I'd feel....if he just takes that one off and bring on such and such (usually an attacking substitution) and he never once did.
Then we'd go past boiling point and I'd feel, if we don't make a substitution in the next 5 minutes they're going to start to take control.....then they would.....then they'd equalise or take the lead....THEN he'd make the substitution, usually the wrong one (IMO) about 5 minutes from the end.
I'd leave regularly in a rage (despite us doing relatively well at the time) thinking if only it wasn't for that ****er Jackett we'd have a good team here!

I genuinely believed the core of the team was good enough to be at the top end of the Championship and would bore anyone who'd listen about it....dragging nephews along and a friend who supported Blackburn (despite being Welsh and living in Swansea) urging them to get on board now 'cos we're going up the divisions....

.....if it only wasn't for that ****er Jackett.

I don't hate anyone who's been involved in our Club other than Petty whose era was mercifully brief.

Been at the club for donkey years and have seen many managers come and go, some were bog standard some were out of their depth and some were really good....the best manager so far has to be Martinez closely followed by Brendan Rodgers for the way they played the modern game and for the respect they had for their players and visa versa ....I will reserve my judgement on Mr Laudrup and will watch him closely to see if he has the ability to manage a premiership club....

What I don't understand is why anyone would come on to this thread to tell me they don't have an axe to grind with anyone Swansea City past or present.
That's not what this thread is about is it.

It was supposed to be a tongue in cheek thread where FFS could explain why Mark Gower does his head in for example.
We are not in ****ing chapel.
If you are a saint go and start a thread entitled "things I am thankful for today" or something, and maybe I'll reply with a suggestion.

    Lighten up everybody.

I am totally embarassed that Leon Knight was ever given the chance to wear a Swans shirt.

I always got amazingly frustrated with Martinez - he just couldn't pass the ball along the ground. I remember standing in the North Bank bitching about how many of his passes were bouncers and the receiving player needed to then take a touch to control the ball instead fo playing one-touch football.

    Have a read back Knackered.
    I didn't insult anyone.
It was PGF who called me a twat because I had the temerity to try and keep my thread on track.

I'll carry on creating threads that attempt to create discussion about Swansea City.
I suggest the thought police create threads with such titles as "All things bright and beautiful" or some such instead of trying to derail mine.
If I see a thread where I don't agree with the sentiment, or it doesn't particularly interest me, or I have nothing to add....I don't bother.
    Complicated isn't it.

No, mate. It's a question of people not responding in the way you anticipated. <ok>

PGF did insult you and I don't support that but he did so because of your rather abrasive post beforehand. It's only a forum and you're not always going to get what you want. :)

    Don't patronise me.
    He insulted me but....?
Aren't you on a crusade against personal insults?
...but it's ok if someone is put out by some straight talking
I am fully aware it's ONLY a forum. I have things in perspective thanks.

Wow. Calm down mate. Didn't mean any offence. Jeesh. <doh>

No need for PGF's insult but why was there a need for 'straight talking'? If people don't respond to your threads in the way you envisage that's the way it goes. This forum should be fun. Unfortunately it's in short supply these days because of the abrasiveness that abounds here.

    Re read the opening post.
Was it meant to be fun?
Of the first 3 replies you barely address the question, Dai answers his own question, and PGF focuses on the word "hate" (or are you telling me PGF that nobody involved in football has ever annoyed you. If so you are a saint).
My thread is now descending into the Knackered show.
I come on here to discuss Swansea City and football in general, not the personalities of those posting.

I think I know what you're getting at Terror, hate figures for Swans fans ? But I can see how it was misinterpreted.

I can't say I hate anyone, it's a really strong word to use but I am willing to stick my neck out and say I don't like Robbie Savage, Joey Barton and John Terry. Vile creatures who all get under my skin.

Terror, you use the word "hate" in the OP,but then you water it down to "annoyed" in post No.16.
There's a whole lot of ground between hate and annoyed,as you will appreciate.
Bear in mind that we are all different, one persons annoyance is another persons hatred.
    I don't hate anyone in football,either.
But there's many I dislike, and many who annoy me.
That would include the aforementioned Savage;Barton;El HajDiouf;any player who uses his status to abuse/assault people, especially girls.
Actually,I could get to hate the latter category.

    Vetch,
I realise you and Dilli are reasonable people being reasonable, and I appreciate it.

I do however have to point out that in the OP I ask "who have you taken against?"
The title was Swansea Hate Figures because it was more snappy and was meant to get people to read.

Are we really saying we have to have deep and meaningfuls over this kind of thing?

Anyone reading the OP can see I'm trying to create a discussion re: Swansea City (or at least a football discussion from a Swansea City point of view).

Others seem to want to discuss the rights and wrongs of their fellow posters/posters threads....it's beyond the joke now. Tedious.

As far as I'm concerned unless any of you post something illegal or threatening illegal activity you can all write about whatever the **** you want.

    It's only a football forum.
