A bit boring now that could stand us up should we fall, ..Just like all this jack to a king praise every where you look. It was great the first time you hear it but its boring now. I hope the players dont take in the praise all the time or it could lead to complacency and that's the last thing we want. We are far from being the finished article yet and should not listen to all the praise even though its good praise, I cringe every time mal pope or Kevin Johns mentions it in their EP columns....... We have work to do yet...
A compliment is a compliment and should be accepted with good grace. You may cringe I personally take great pride when I hear things like this form people like him. It can never get boring or old. Self praise is one thing but when outsiders praise us it is always a good thing.
No Club or team is ever the "finished article " how can it be ,I accept the comments in good grace and in the spirit they were given ,just remember there's plenty out there just waiting for us to fail and that should be the focus .just keep doing what we're doing because when we don't that's when the negatives start appearing
I only said im fed up of reading about all the praise. there is never any mention of also nearly getting relegated. Im as proud as anyone but i dont want to see it written in the press all the time.....
There used to be a very similar praise for Charlton, who where at one point the perfect example of a smaller club coming up and surviving or sticking with their manager and returning, at one point they where in with a chance of champions league football which shows how quickly a club can drop down the leagues. I guess the difference is, Swansea know how to appoint the right manager for your set-up, Charlton got lucky with Curbishley being the perfect fit, but as we have seen, you have had a succession of managers who have done a fine job. Yes you where nearly relegated but you had the right manager to save the club, now you're comfortable and thats why many people admire Swansea as you're a classy club, run by people who have genuine passion for Swansea.
