An interesting way of doing business for our club. I've got to ask though where is their source of this information ?

Very similar to Barcelona's compensation structure. Makes collective and club sense,

It kind of makes me squirm a bit actually...
Some are getting paid as much as 35k a week to play and win football matches....Yet they need a bonus as an incentive to win!
What about the fact you're getting paid shedloads as it is!

Its the old stick and carrot. Our players are on lower contracts and have a big relegation penalty clause as the stick and they need a carrot also when they sign (or else they would soon start kissing the badge of a rival's team!) It helps ensure we don't sign a benchwarming mercenary. Does this possibly reflect why DG wants out to a lower positioned team..... missing out on his bonus starting money rather than actual footballing reasons (he will bench warm at Sunderland for sure).

I agree about the amounts though ...... Crazy money but glad we are one of the 'more sensible' teams.

You're only as good on the pitch as you are off it. Full credit must be given to our Board of Directors, fronted by our Chairman Huw Jenkins, for the excellent job they are doing. <ok>

Not bad bonuses, but well deserved if the player pull together which they do all for one and one for all mentality etc.

I would add that with such vast sums of money being banded about, some of it should be made available to our supporters.

It was welcome to have a subsidised bus to Arsenal last Tuesday and I think the same principal should have been applied to our supporters travelling on Club buses to Sunderland a week on Tuesday.

The match is live on SKY but some of our supporters will be taking two days off work, leaving at 9am in the morning for a 7.45pm kick off and wont be home until 5 in the moring - if they are lucky!

I agree that some of that bonus should filter down to the fans with cheaper tickets and transport for the following season. If prices goes up for next season then fans have the right to be angry. without the support of the fans there would not be bonuses or would they be on the salaries they get...

Well season tickets haven't gone up, so who knows about match day tickets, think they're £35 a shot right now

I appreciate where your comming from Rhys, but that 35K a week, is peanuts to those teams that pay out £250,000 a week to players!.............<ok>

Wayne Rooney Yearly Salary – £13 million (£250,000/week)

Yaya Toure Yearly Salary – £11.5 million (£220,000/week)

Carlos Tevez Yearly Salary – £10.5 million (£200,000/week)

John Terry Yearly Salary – £8 million (£150,000/week)

Frank Lampard Yearly Salary – £7.5 million (£140,000/week)

Steven Gerrard Yearly Salary – £6.5 million (£125,000/week)

Rio Ferdinand Yearly Salary – £6.25 million (£120,000/week)

Kind of puts things into perspective, and shows that we pay modest wages at this level, but still perform against the so called elite of the game!............<cheers>

Dragon i could not give a fig what other teams pay and you really cant compare us to them that has amassed billions through out the decades. Them clubs earn more in one season what we can earn in 10 seasons and that is not counting their gate money that is pin money to them....
