http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Swansea-City-favourites-land-Premier-League-s/story-22891758-detail/story.html Well done Huw and Garry for a great xfer window and start to the season.
I have never thought for one minute that we are relegation candidates ever since Monk was chosen to take the managers job but i would not go as far as saying we will be the best of the rest....not yet anyway. I see us as a middle of the table side and until we get some results against the teams on our level who beat us last season like the saints, stoke etc then my prediction wont change...
Let's not get carried away just yet. Am overjoyed by the flying start but it's only a start. We beat Man U at Old Trafford with a fantastic performance but as good as we were, they were poor. Burnley battered us in the second half. West Brom was the best I've seen us play in a while and demonstrates that, on our day, we will give anyone a hell of a game. I am cautiously confident but hate it when pundits and bookies start going all Mystic Meg! It is only the start of the season, a fantastic start (I agree) has seen us get a quarter of the way toward our first target (of safety - let's get that first and then start reassessing our aspirations) but there is still a long way to go. I am not looking beyond the Chelsea game (top of the table clash - whoulda thunk that 10 years ago ) at the minute. Will be interesting to see how we perform against a true title contender (sorry Manure). Taking anything at all from Stamford Bridge will be a true statement of intent; Chelsea are looking magnificent offensively, but fragile defensively and I think we will go there with confidence, but as for the score - who knows? They could stuff us, we could get a battling draw, or we could sneak a win (but would have to replicate the West Brom performance - the 'second half Burnley' performance would bring us crashing back down to earth).
Bit early for back slapping, but you should be very pleased with your start. Time to worry if Woy turns up though, that's when things go bad.
Agreed its to early to say, if we can get to safety points early enough if at all then it may be on for our highest league finish ever ! but to many ifs n buts this early on. So cool ED innit !
We have had a great start but lets tread cautiously. This is the sort of league when you can suddenly go 5 games in a row without a point and if that happened we would have 9 from a possible 24 - although I dont think that will happen. We have 14 more games till Christmas and I will be pleased with 25 points at that stage.
