A great win for us against the Saints yesterday and Leicester's win against the Swans leaves us just 1 point behind them. The game at the Liberty could well decide who will clinch 8th place at the end of the season. A draw or a win for us there could see us seal it.
It won't be easy at your place Taff, I can't remember us winning there in the recent past. I would take a draw and hope we do enough to overtake the Swans in the remaining games.
Did we not win a cup match there just a few seasons ago ? Or maybe it was against the Bluebirds. Anyhow both are flighty types.
I seem to remember a whole heap of controversy after our home game Two penalties...a debatable one for Bony a d a cast iron dive by Moses. Loads of angry Swan threatening a!l manner of mayhem at the Liberty...with the honourable exception of Taff. Hey ho
The disappointing thing for me is the games against CP and WB could have prevented us beating last years tally. TP still haunting us!
We've got Newcastle away next, followed by yourselves next at the Liberty. We've also got to go to Arsenal and Palace (last match of the season), with Man City at home our other fixture. So we've got to get something against Newcastle, Palace and yourselves if we are going to stay 8th.
Moses did not " dive " , he was fouled by the swans player. I have studied the film with a microscope and he was fouled. As for Bony he won an Emmy , an Oscar and whatever other award for that performance. We are entitled to retribution in the return game. These Potters neither throw nor turn.
You had your retribution at the Liberty last season with the penalty that never was. Your guys were appealing for a last minute corner and going ape when the referee pointed they thought for a goal kick........ They couldn't believe their luck when they realised that Madley was actually pointing at the penalty spot. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
A win for either side in next week's game will go a long way in determining which of our two teams finish in 8th place. I guess with Moses out injured and Bony having transferred to Man City, the "issues" from the game at the Britannia have been removed and we can all concentrate on the match itself. Hopefully, neither West Ham nor Palace will pip either of us, and one of the SCFCs will finish in 8th
A good win for the Swans at Newcastle today and our gift of a point to Sunderland has put you back in the driving seat I think, Taff, so we need to win next week.
Perhaps a point for you would suffice, given we would still have to play Arsenal and City. I think we must beat you to have any chance of remaining in 8th splace.
A win would be great but I would be happy with a point - as Taff says. I prefer our run in compared to theirs, but I cant see us getting more than 6 points out of these games. If we get the draw against them next game we have to rely on them not winning any of their remaing games - doubtful - but its going to be close.
Should be a good game with end to end entertainment. as the home team and the fact there will be over a million quid on it then the players should be up for it.....i reckon 2-1 home win...
I've just read a Swansea message board, posted on a Stoke page on Facebook. Some Swans fans really do not like us. Some of its about the fixture at the Brit earlier this season but is there any other reason they hate us?
Not sure about "hate" but many Swans fans felt aggrieved at the "ghost" penalty awarded at the end of last season's match of the Liberty. Other than that, no idea.
