No its not Messi !! but a guy called Jonathan Soriano their reserve team striker that has got about 50 odd goals in 70 odd apearences, sounds promising but we could have the best striker in the world up front, if he doesnt get good quality ball and quick posession then we arnt going to maximise the players full potential. QPR are also said to be intrested. If it comes down to money were knackered! this player is at the end of his contract in June so will be looking for a permenant deal, seems exactly like the Borini situation in terms of the contract running out, if QPR offer him a deal in January and we only offer a loan im guessing he could well end up in London. Anybody else think that clubs around us are signing our targets and players just because it will make us weaker? im convinced Wolves bought Dorus just to destabilise our club, thinking (as were we ) that they have taken a key player from our system and therefore de-railing our prem staus. anyway, here is the link http://www.eatsleepsport.com/swansea-city/swans-lead-race-for-barcelona-striker-1349559.html
We have been here before ... i think the deal fell over because of the agent fees.. July 5th 2011 :- Swansea City have hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of Barcelona striker Jonathan Soriano. Chairman Huw Jenkins travelled to Spain to hold talks with the player's representatives last weekend, but he returned without striking a deal. 'We were prepared to offer the player an opportunity to join our squad in our first season in the Premier League, but we were not happy with the terms of the deal.' Yes i remember that, but it looks like the club are after a loan deal or possible transfer, maybe there is now a different agent involved or his demands are more resonable ??
Could well be old news re hashed thinking about it, though maybe the guy didnt get his money in the summer and missed out so now he is prepared to play ball
Well don't know if he's any good chaps but your fella Brendon had good judgement on that chap you had on loan from Chelsea so maybe ok. I spose you lot will beat us to him like with Danny Graham
miller is ok but whether he would make the step up to premiership is doubtful....i would rather whitts any day of the week as he does look as if he can make a decent go in the premiership....he is better than anything we have got at present who can score goals from anywhere on the pitch...
Aberdude- Where have you been matey?? aint seen you on here for a while? Heres one for you to ponder, is the New world Order finally pushing through its plans for the one world government ??
Geordie in peace - I've watched a bit of Soriano playing, and I keep hearing this about him being linked to the Swans. Think he'd be a really good buy - the lad has good positioning and his finishing is sublime. Would like to see him in the Prem, and think he'd fit in great with the beautiful football you seem to be playing
Our game deserves a Maestro up front, instead of the blunt instruments we currently have! Hope it comes off, come on Huw, let the moths out!..................... please log in to view this image Looks like Bobby brown shoes is in for him too! Cheers protein, we just need our chairman, to open his wallet once in a while!................ please log in to view this image
That's right, Miller wouldn't cope at all with the premiership, so please keep away from him all of you premiership clubs - he's crap. Thanks. EDIT: Whitts is a league 2 player, also.
i'd stay well clear if the deal fell down over dodgy agents, he had the chance to join in the summer and didnt take it, its a fantastic opportunity for the player to play in the biggest league in the world and if he wants to keep playing second league spanish football so be it and dai, let me remind you miller was scoring goals in the champions league and for turkeys champions...
What I've heard is the transfer fee to Barca and the wages were agreed, but the agent demanded 1mil as a "facilitator" and Huw told him where to go. Another point in Huw's book if you ask me. Even if someone is being signed for 30mil the agent shouldn't get 1mil, it's ridiculous and has to be stopped. If, now, Soriano tells his agent to do one then that, coupled with an expiring contract, could see us blag this one!
Hope he does, though try having Mike Ashley as chairman, I'm sure he'd make Huw look like Roman Abramovich! Really hope Swansea stays up though - one of the best teams to watch in the Premier League, especially with the dedicated fanbase
Protein- problem we have is not so much the transfer fee but the wages that some players want, the club seems to have a wage structure around the 20k a week mark, if the boy is realistic then it could be a good fit, if QPR come in they will easily offer more in wages, how much was Barton on at Newcastle? it was a fair whack i know but QPR offered the same wages to him as he was getting with you, crazy really.
and dai, let me remind you miller was scoring goals in the champions league and for turkeys champions... Why is he with a lower league club then .. cant make it maybe to the satisfaction of any prem club......
I saw the name today of the chelsea player you had Borini....wouldn't mind him. Wonderful? hhmmmm yeah
