. . as opening win earns performance of the week gong The Swans stole the show on the opening day of the Premier League â now they have an award to prove it. The Michael Laudrup era started on a winning note as the Swans secured a stunning 5-0 away win over QPR last weekend. And that ruthless display was enough to earn the Swans the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award. The first award of the season, voted by a five-man panel comprising LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, will be presented to Laudrup, who will receive a specially engraved crystal football to mark the achievement. Two goals from new signing Michu and a brace from Nathan Dyer along with a late strike from Scott Sinclair meant the Swans claimed their first victory at Loftus Road â and a first opening-day win in seven years.
What a bloody start ML and the Swans. Great win and great performance and a well deserved prize. STID.
If anyone else comes up with phrase "Swansea were a breath of fresh air" I'm going to shoot them. [I won't really!]. I hate the phrase.
That saying applied last season but you can't be a breath of fresh air in your second season can you? If our season continues in this vein I'd say "Swansea have been a revelation". Much more appropriate imo.
