A 3 yr deal has been reached for the player. He may well be the answer to our powder puff tackling, the guy is like another version of chico but plays as a holding midfielder, not massive, but in what ive seen a very classy player. looks like laudrup knows exactly what is needed http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/swansea-transfer-news-swans-sign-1817488
Tidy player by all accounts be nice to see other teams get a bit outmuscled by us for a change as well as run rings round when were firing on all cylinders.
cheeky ****ers that west brom lot!! they obviously tried to guzump us and failed, at least we now know he aint here for just the money!! yet again Laudrup is the difference IMO, if it was any other manager then we would not be getting a sniff of these boys such as michu, chico, pablo and canas. We really need to enjoy these times and make the most of them, laudrup wont be here forever . I guess all other clubs are now looking at our targets. Liverpool have stumped up with the JDG deal, WBA had a go with the Canas deal, the difference is a man not money...long may pure class stay and join the swans!! the players coming in all want to play for the manager not the pay chack, that is heartning
Swansea will make Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas their first summer signing on a free transfer. Canas’ deal expires at the end of the season and the Capital One Cup holders have reached a pre-contract agreement with the Spanish ace. The 25-year-old star will join Michael Laudrup’s squad on a three-year contract from July 1 after turning down a late offer from Premier League rivals West Brom. The *agreement will not be made official by either club until May, with La Liga outfit Betis still battling it out for a Europa League spot. Canas led Betis to a 5-1 win over Granada on Friday to leapfrog Valencia into sixth spot. The tough-*tackling Canas is seen as the perfect competition for midfield linchpin Leon Britton at the Liberty Stadium, with Swansea also back in Europe for the first time since 1991.
Trouble is with these midfield enforcers is that they get booked and sent off and are banned more often than they are available...
Why would he be fazed out, stop being so negative. Every positive that comes in you answer wit a negative. ML has said he wants 2 players for each position. With all the games we have this year, we now have 2 proper holding midfield players. Its a good job we didnt sack ML as canas would have been on his way to WBA.
I would have agreed with you 6 months ago, but now with our team establishing itself as a solid mid table Premier League club and with a great footballing philosophy I think the club itself is a lot more appealing. Players would obviously take the continuity of the coaching staff into consideration and whilst I suppose ML is still a draw for so many, I think he may now only be complimenting our chances of getting players instead of being the major reason.
lol... he's harmless, every club needs someone like that because when we see everyone else raising their eyebrows at such comments we know the club is doing well. It is when we all start agreeing with the token negative fan that we should be worrying! But as for the Canas deal, I am really hoping this comes off good because Leon needs to put his feet up a bit next season as 60 games is asking to much of someone who never, ever, ever stops moving. It could even mean Ki is advanced forward a bit like he played for Celtic and got more chances to bang in those goals.
