Just saw someone mention author Sven Hassel. I couldn't think of any books he'd written, so thought I'd have a look at his Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sven_Hassel "The same year he and his wife registered a phone as Lieutenant Colonel and Writer B. W. Arbing and Translator Laura Arbing at the address Hammelstrupvej 24, Copenhagen.[23] In 1957 he and his wife registered a second summer phone, in Hundige.[24] In 1957 Hassel suffered from an attack of a sickness caught during the war and was paralyzed for almost two years. After recovery, he began to write more books.[citation needed] In 1959 he and his wife reregistered their primary phone to the address Strindbergsvej 25, Valby and their second phone to Grankogle Allé, Hundige.[25] In 1960 their second phone was registered at the seaside house Grankogle Allé 12,Greve.[26] The properties Grankogle Allé 8, 10 and 12 were owned by his wife and her relatives.[27] On 7 July 1961 he bought the property Stægers Alle 9, Frederiksberg under the nameBørge Arbing[28] and the following year he and his wife registered a new primary phone at that address under Dorthe & Willy Arbing.[29] In 1963 he reregistered the two telephones as Writer Sven Hazel with the second phone from then on at Grankogle Allé 10.[30] On 10 October 1963 journalist George Kringelbach revealed in his radio programmeNatredaktionen on P3 that Sven Hazel was a pen name for the convicted traitor Børge Willy Redsted Pedersen.[1][22] Hassel's publisher Grafisk Forlag subsequently offered all book dealers a refund for his most recent book and ceased collaboration with him. Pedersen aka Hassel therefore formed his own publishing company "Bellum" (Latin for 'War'), which published the remainder of his books.[22] In 1964 Pedersen aka Hassel moved toBarcelona, Spain, where he lived until his death.[1] In 1965 he still had the two telephones as Writer Sven Hazel with the primary phone reregistered to Stægers Alle 11." Why the obsession with his telephone registrations?
Looks like they're just using the public telephone directory to establish where he was living at given times. It's a bit odd that they include this in the main article rather than just linking to it in the footnotes.
Did you know most of the cast of "Hogan's Heroes" (excepting Bob Crane) were actually in WW2 and were persecuted Jews? I didny. Perhaps I made it up.
Ahhh, Sven Hassell, I read them all years ago, like Commando Comics (without the drawings) for Jerries.
