Leicester should be doing better with the money they've spent. I was praying we wouldn't get Sven after Pardew left and I was right. He has no idea how to get the best out of a team.
Bye Bye Sven. How did the emperor's new clothes stay new for so long? Er...that is because I, never wear...er clothes when at my house, or in the hotel.
Leicester have gone about things the wrong way. They had a good balance and momentum with Nigel Pearson and frankly, have since blown it. They have pots of money, yet no real focus on what to do with it. I reckon their owners have since taken a look at what Saints and a couple of other teams are doing and realised, enough is enough. Yes, of course you can spend the dosh, but you need a good manager to harness it all, and SGE is overrated at the cut and thrust of British league football. EDIT: Actually, I'll amend that to just overrated, period.
Leicester are now in turmoil - who's going to want to go to Leicester??? They will probably want Martin O'Neill but i doubt he would want the job. I wouldn't be suprised if they approached Saints for Adkins - not that it would go very far - Cortese will just tell them to f**k off!
Adkins is 16/1 for the Leicester job. By my knowledge of odds, that means if you put £10 on Adkins going to Leicester, you will lose £10!
Adkins would never go to Leicester, but, since some in the media suggested he might take the Forest job, I'm sure some idiot will suggest it.
There were rumours on Twitter from about 4.30 this afternoon onwards. Bookies seem to make MON favourite, and I'm expecting all the Leicester fans will be looking no further than him. But I don't think he's like Sven (in that, I don't think the attractive of a massive transfer budget will tempt him). At the end of the day he's a top division manager, and I can't see him coming down to this level - especially as Leicester as far from certain to finish in the top two. Good news for Dave Jones, Billy Davies, Steve McClaren etc. No longer do they have to contemplate Pompey as the only alternative to unemployment.
