Hi, Bristol Rovers fan here (we're that team at the bottom of the football league)! Thanks to BrixtonR for allowing me to post this here. Down in the basement divisions there seems to be a lot of fans who are disenchanted with the amount/quality of information provided to them about the club. Many seem to feel less part of the club that they have followed through the ups and downs (sadly more of the downs as a Bristol Rovers fan), so I wanted to gauge the feeling of other fans from clubs in higher league positions (yes yes I know that's everyone). Below is a link to a 10 question survey to try and compare the clubs. It would be great if some of you could complete the survey. Once I have a decent number of responses from you guys and from some other clubs I will post an overview of the results for both all responses and the responses from just QPR fans. Thought it would be interesting to see what perceptions people have: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DP7R77P Best of luck for the rest of the season. Andy
Done. Good luck with the survey and your season. I actually tipped you for promotion last year, what have gone wrong at Rovers? Thought Paul Buckle was the real deal.
I flicked through the questions earlier on before positively responding to Gashead's mod, Captain Jack Sparrow's extremely civil request to post this survey on our board. Looks very simple but well thought out and presented. I'd like to see a fair few responses from our guys for those reasons, and also out of respect for real football fans - and a relationship with a club we share two of the most solid Rs in our recent history, namely Ollie and Gerry. Hope Rovers (and AFC!) pull away from the drop zone almost as much as I hope we do!
Done tha for you mate. We are lucky now that we have a board and press team that are happy to communicate and know its importance.
I'll be doing this shortly for you mate. Rovers hold a place in my heart - used to go and watch them when I was at UWE. Hope you start moving up that league mate.
thanks, we hope so too but may need AFC to slip up for us! we have never recovered from selling rickie lambert for £1 million to southampton. we never replaced him, the goals dried up and the rest is history. the last 3 seasons has killed the spirit we have and things not been great between our board and supporters which is why gashead82 has done this survey to see what the communication is like at other clubs to see if its just our board or if its the norm! we have a new manager now, a ex gas manager who knows what were about and were doing well playing well as well and 1 of the inform teams but still at the bottom. things will change soon though..... i hope not sure if you know but we got planning permission to have our new stadium at UWE (shame your still not there as you will get a discount on watching us) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-18898457 good luck guys with your fight to stay up, if 1 man can save you, its redknapp and he is doing a great job already results wise. good luck guys, do it for ollie and francis
Done. Gashead, if you're reading, do you have any plans to weight responses per club? If 90% of the responses came from Burnley fans (as an example) you'd end up with views skewed towards that one set of fans. Just interested. Good luck anyway.
Done the survey, I remember when you had Trevor Warboys (can't remember the name of his strike partner might have been called Bannister) you also have had some players/managers besides Ian Holloway, Gerry Francis and Gary Penrice that have played for the R's. I think that I speak for most QPR fans in saying that we prefer BRFC to that other club in Bristol (currently occupying 24th place in NPower Championship). Good luck I hope that both BRFC and the R's maintain the places in their current divisions.
Thanks to everyone who has responded so far! To be totally honest I've never done anything like this in my life, so I'm not an accomplished Statto! I was going to create a basic website that gave the overall statistics with a brief summary and then have tabs for each individual team that took part. I thought that would make it easy to compare to another club. In my experience stats can be manipulated to make any point you want so I didn't want to make too many conclusions for others. I will look into weighted stats and how they work and try to put weighted stats on the overall stat page and then just put the raw data on a seperate page to allow people to do what they want with it. Great suggestion by the way that I hadn't thought of so if anyone has other suggestions that will make this more relevant/appealing please let me know and I will do my best to include them. Thanks again for all your responses.
Done and good luck. Matt, survey monkey is a clever toy, he will be able to filter the results in dozens of ways, including by club.
