Watching a few EPL games over the weekend, what's up with surrounding the ref AFTER the whistle has blown.
Rarely ever does a ref change his mind and the chief reason seems to be the wish by the aggrieved team to escalate the offence to that of a yellow or a red.
The behaviour of the ManU team especially was disgraceful. Nearly every decision was disputed and the ref chased down. All for the off-chance of sending an opposition player off.
The attraction of referees and linesmen ( goal line technology aside) is their fallibility and being human. They get things 95% right and just so. Imagine the stopping/starting like rugby with decisions being decided off the pitch?
Newcastle had seemingly unfair decisions against Blackburn ( Ba penalty shout) but then had some good ones. As fans we should take the rough with the smooth.....players should do the same:steam:

I hate it - referees should just book em' if they don't go away when told.

Aye it narks me as much as waving imaginary cards. you might as well just accept it because theres been no instances that i can recall when i ref has went "oh go on then its not a penalty...."

It would be far better if the FA introduce PowerPoint technology.

The ref can then sit down with the players in the centre circle and explain with slides and charts why he made his decision and also make the players aware that the presentation is available to download if required.

Should instantly get a yellow card for surrounding the referee (unless it's the captain speaking to the ref), would stop it quickly. It pissed me off last year the amount Nolan & Barton pestered the referee after decisions.

I think John Terry and Frank Lampard over step the mark sometimes with referees, but I saw one of the Spurs players give the Ref a bit of a shove at SJP, I expected to read about it on here but didn't notice any comments.

I don't really care about it honestly. I agree about taking the rough with the smooth though - I don't complain about refs and I don't see why it's such a big topic

They should have a sin bin for this.

During the match, the opposing team can pick any player apart from the goalkeeper to spend 10 minutes off the pitch, any player because it could be a scenario where if its Newcastle, Perch may be giving orders to debate all decisions in a fierce manner with the referee from Pardew (loosing him for 10 minutes may be a blessing).

If its after a match and 4-5 players do it, then the oposition in their next match, can choose 4-5 players to be sin binned for the 1st 10 minutes.

you can sort of understand it though, lots of money involved, title/positions are huge in the PL, people say they even out eventually, they never do for the smaller teams, or if you do get a dodgy decision its when you are already 3-0 up against a lesser team anyway, so pointless getting that evening out then.

You pay someone that money per year, hype them up and turn them into an 'icon' and they soon lose touch with the 'common' person.

There's an easy solution. Give the red card to anyone who approaches the ref aggressively, even if the whole team is involved and it was after the final whistle.

    It would soon stop.
