I don't think anyone can complain with our level of transfer activity this summer. The holy trinity "Kenny, Comoli, and Henry" have worked hard to fill our problem areas.

We're at the point where there is no critical weaknesses in the squad... there may be a few positions we might like to fill... but we're fine if we sign no-one else.

But despite that- I'm surprised there are so few rumours about incoming players compared to this time in any other transfer season.

There are weak links to Bellamy. Chelsea trying to flog Bennayoun to us. Pie in the sky claims from Bleacher that we're looking at Afellay.

When was the last time we only had three weak transfer rumours going in the dying days of the transfer window? Shows what a good job the holy trinity have had in filling the squad that even the press can't whip up silly transfer rumours.

Its so nice to finally be sitting nicely toward to the top of the table and watching the others scamble around a bit at this point of the season. Hopefully from now on our policy will be to get business done well before our competitors.

Barring any injuries or Torres style sagas i wonder if they'll look to bring anyone else in at all in January or the summer even. Continuing the clear out must be the next steps.

I think the Van Persie rumor started as Comolli was in the stands at United's win against the Arse. TV definetely caught him chatting up someone with pen and pad in hand. Not sure if he does scouting work in terms of tactics, players styles, ways to break teams down, or if he was scouting someone.

I don't mind the Affelay and Vargas rumors, beats Cole anyday of the week!

I fully suspect loads of rumours about players coming to Liverpool in tomorrow's newspapers... They will need to fill the sports pages and will come up with a rumour to fill it.

Don't expect us to sign anyone tomorrow but there will a tonne of rumours!

I think there have been less rumours around us this summer because when we've shown an interest in a player we've gone for them with either success (like Downing or Henderson) or failed (like Jones)
I prefer this approach, keep your cards close to your chest until you are ready and willing to go for a player seriously, obviously you cant win them all.

I think it's the fact we have signed everyone before the season even started where as Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea are trying to do all their business now.

It's a lot easier for the media to spread stories about those clubs knowing their fans are hoping for more signings - hence they are constantly on edge for the next one - hence they'll buy more papers/visit more websites etc.
