The council has rejected Gloucestershire Crickets plans for their new stadiums in Bristol. So goodbye International cricket for Bristol.

And they wonder why sport in this area struggles when we get no support from the councils to take clubs forwards.

As an inhabitant of Whitchurch, whereabouts in Stockwood is this destined for ?

I am no fan of Cricket but why am I not surprised that something good for Bristol has been declinded yet again. The council in this City need ****ing shooting. They are a total and utter disgrace.

Suggest we form a petition to knock down the council house and once done, not let the ****ers rebuild it....

    That'll show 'em !

    that RoD

He said: "We have been in talks with Unite for 12 months over this issue because the lease was coming to an end. I took over the ice rink in the early 1990s because we wanted a foothold in the city and we had plans for an NEC-style centre in Stockwood. The council wanted the centre to be in Hengrove which was always a non-starter as far as I was concerned so that idea never got off the ground."

He added: "I currently own 140 acres of green belt land next to the park and ride in Stockwood and along with Crest Nicholson we have been talking to the planning inspectorate. If we were to build then the scheme there would be land set aside for commercial use which would be most likely an ice rink."

Your right it does mention it.

But this is from the bloke who promised to upgrade Bristol ice rink when taking it over as prime building land.

Now its sold as student flats.

I wouldn't hold your breath on this!

North somerset does annoy me that in the south of the county in Weston it self they have given planning permission for everything from a new cinema to a mega activity centre which will have one of countries biggest in door skiing complex aswell as rock climbing and ice skating but in the north of the county they won't give planning permission for anything including our ground. Think certain councillors are on the fiddle or trying to make a new for themselves
