Was listening to BBC Radio 5 Live earlier, previewing the Premier League. They had Alan Hansen and Lee Dixon on and Lee picked Sunderland as his surprise package for the new season. Mark Chapman asked him why and he said he bumped into SNQ after the Eddie Izzard show at the Hollywood Bowl in July and they got chatting. Quinny was apparently so enthusiastic about all our signings and so excited about our prospects for the upcoming season that Lee said by the end of the night he had been convinced that Sunderland were going to win the league!!!

We all know SNQ has the gift of the blarney and I guess he was being a bit over optimistic :emoticon-0110-tongu but isn't it great that we have such a brilliant advocate for our club. Importantly perhaps this will mean that we won't always be on last on MOTD this season. Time will tell.

Can't wait for Saturday.:emoticon-0102-bigsm

We may not have the team that the once imperious SAFC deserves.. but we do have a great football man as our chairman ..and long may it continue....
