Reading the morning freebie on the tube this morning on the way to work I read that already Premier clubs are releasing players. I wonder if a new Manager might tempt any of these they listed and if we would want then: Man City: Patrick Viera (already mentioned elsewhere) Man U: Owen Hargreaves and Michael Owen Spurs: Jonathon Woodgate Birmingham: Lee Bowyer, Sebastian Larsson, James McFadden, Kevin Phillips, Maik Taylor West Ham: Matthew Upson, Danny Gabbidon, Lars Jacobsen, Jonathon Spector Villa: John Carew, Robert Pires, Nigel Reo-coker. They are all on frees, which means that there might be more money to cover their wages. Do we want any of them?
na not really mate there due there pensions mate ,high wages big egos saying that would they want to go to cardiff ,up rooting there homes for the space of one season ?? there all hospital cases dj would sighn them and pay them stupid money ,thanks but no thank you !!!!
I agree with BB. You could have just list DJ's squad for the coming season I'd hope the new boss would be looking to build a squad for the future rather than signing a 'name' for the sake of it. They're mostly at the end (or nearing the end) of their respective careers
i know it would be audatious but i think owen could still do a job at championship level the only hicup would be ffos las and chepstow not being very good
I could only imagine the salary they wanted!!! Whats our take on Seb Larrsson? He may do a job and not ask for too much. Opinions on Nigel Reo-Coker? Seems he would be a perfect man for us if he was 100% willing to play. How old is now? 28??
Michael Owen signed a 1 year contract extension a fortnight ago with Man U. Would take Bowyer, Gabbidon, Reo-Coker and Phillips from that list. The rest either no thanks or they simply would'nt come to us.
My own thoguhts were that if these kind of players are being released this early in the annual transfer dance, who is going to be available as a loanee when they big clubs settle on their chosen 25 man squad?
