Howard, Muggleton, Hare, Miller, Hessenthaler, Butcher, Haysman, Niafli are all good enough to play in the first team, so what's the problem??????????????
I agree 'youth & experience' and I don't see the size of our squad as a problem, if MA decided to let players go preseason and last season, for what HE considered better or more fitting players at this level, then he has to work within the budget he has been given by the Chairman and with the squad he has ultimately built in his second season as manager. If he gets it wrong, then my eyes will be firmly fixed on casting scrutiny over the decisions he alone has made as the manager. As I said quite clearly last season and I got dismissed for it, MA should not be asking the cheque book to be opened again, he either has the tactical know how to move us forward with what he has created or he does not. But hey, it's only the first game...MadDog reassured us last season he is building a squad to smash league one, where's my friend Lenny when I need him, he'll tell yer...lol
George Howard was signed as professional. Don't forget there's also prospective new signings of Harry Grant and Tom Derry, the former of which I'm looking forward to seeing challenging for the first team.
What does that matter? Every player in the game has to make a debut!! Did we a few years ago say Matt Jarvis isn't good enough as he has only played one game? No we didn't...Whoever MA plays in the team we will support that decision!
We really needed to strengthen the squad from last season as we had gone up to league one. Only Cody and Lingazi look like first team players. We won the league because of Nelson and the back 4, this season we cannot expect these players to carry us against better players. Now with Fish out for months we are even more stuffed. Cody our star signing really needs to show he is good enough for this level as most of his goals were lower leagues. We are a club who always seem to either get close to promotion or relagation. With the tough opening month it could be the latter without new recruits.
henrygills99 you missed out Charlie Lee ! .............. but I do agree - to a point. However the modern. pragmatic view in Football (especially lower league ) is that Clubs cannot afford to have two players for every position (just in case of injuries) - but trust to luck & the loan market if things go wrong.
