That's our mini-league this season, Sunderland, Stoke and Fulham are the targets, if we are above them we'll be laughing...

 

I think there is every possibility that Aston Villa will be in this mix as Lambert tries to build something new. With expectations always ludicrously high at Villa Park he may well fail.

 

Getting Lambert in from Norwich has no assurances to it in my mind and this will be a very big test for him IMO

I just wish everyone would stop talking about a top ten finish. I'm hopeful, but nothing is guaranteed in this league!!

About this time last year I expanded on this and suggested (jokingly I might add) if we continued our form Europe was a possibility. I got slaughtered so will not be making any such claims this season!

All the teams you have mentioned will be thinking that they are better than us because we only stayed up due to Bolton not beating Stoke on the last day of the season. Despite all the signings and names still being linked with us QPR are everyone's best bet to go down. We can't base our whole season on one result but I hope Norwich on Saturday isn't a relegation 6 pointer.

 

considering the games that follow it is a game we need to win

 

15th to 17th rwmains my opinion. Frankly survival is all we should aim for until we have a new larger capacity ground. Then we can attempt to climb the table with a solid income base hopefully.

 

I think we can all dream of mid table mediocrity this season but IMO I agree with you around 15th had to be seen as progress and another 60/70 million for the club.

 

although it would be lovely to finish midtable 17th or above would do me again this season

Why can't we progress gradually? Scraped 17th last year so this year the aim should be to be comfortable, IE avoid the dogfight.

A lower-mid finish (12th-14th) should be the target IMO.
