They do but aren't you excited for the euros now? So much promise for the future! Surely a welcome positive distraction from Ipswiches demise
Having not watched them under a foreign manager i'm hoping that i can get into it again, so it will be nice to watch and maybe actually care.
I find it strange you haven't watched England because you don't like the manager yet you have persisted in supporting Ipswich...
In the context of this thread, I guess we'd ALL agree that Paul Lambert has done a brilliant job since taking charge at Carrow Road. His stats read: Games 127, Won 66, Lost 29, Drawn 32, % Won 51.97 Here are Capello's stats as England manager: Games 42, Won 28, Lost 6, Drawn 8, % Won 66.70 Of the last 6 England managers, only 2 have achieved a win ratio over 60%, the two "foreigners", Capello and Sven. The only Englishman to get anywhere near was Hoddle. Yet here we are crucifying Capello. No wonder he got pissed off. Is there really any greater satisfaction in "wholly English" failure?
The last campaign we had to have an English manager ended with McClaren. Be careful what you wish for.
Yes, I want England to do well, to win, but at the end of the day do we really give a flying fig ? All we really care about are our clubs don't we ? NCFC to win the FA Cup or England to win the World Cup ? Or even NCFC to win the League Cup or England to win the World Cup ? Sorry England, but for me you come a poor second. OTBC
Can't we just have a manager who plays the same as we do in the league games. We cannot match the Spanish, Dutch Germans for individual skill. Thats just the way it is. No matter how many schools of excellence we build, we will never play that way. Its not a fault. We shouldn't have to apologise. How many boxing champions have Spain had? Probably none and they never will. Its not in them. We have shown that you can have success with a mixture of skillful guys like Hoolahan alongside the more journeyman Morison. I can name you an eleven that will play exciting attacking football as long as they are given their head and fitness providing. HART WALKER JONES SMALLING TIERNEY LENNON WILTSHIRE GERARD OXLADE CHAMBERLAIN DEFOE ROONEY SUBS: RUDDY, COLE, DAWSON, HUDDLESTONE, PARKER, HOLT, YOUNG Stick them in, motivate them, tell them they won't get dropped for one bad game. Arrange two more friendlies and tell them the results are unimportant as we are preparing for the WC qualifiers.
Sorry guys, I didn't realise the O' was silent. Oh well. I don't like him as a person but Cole can go in at left back. And I know he isn't a left back but I would stick Mica Richards on the bench.
Hang on, Hang on. Wikipedia says he is eligible to play for Eire OR England. No apologies needed gents. Just leave the Bushmills alone!
