While there will usually be players at our club we don't rate I suspect there is always a desire even deep down that wouldn't it be great for that player to prove me wrong. While I have done my fair share of criticising Gibson, ironically nothing would give me a smile more than to admit I was wrong if and when he started to play wonderfully well. Not going to happen mind you.

However I am sick to death of hearing our so called fellow fans slag to death one of our top players and using fans from other clubs to do so.

Time to quit your moaning and back the lad or get a new jersey.

i agree. i'm ready to admit when i'm wrong. i didn't rate fletcher particularly high when he first broke through, but i'm big enough to eat some humble pie when i have to.

as for gibson, i thought he was the least guilty of giving it away in marseille midweek.

unfortunately, this is the price you pay when you're as successful as ourselves. you'll always get nobs such as nohl who want instant success rather than back players with your support. i don't like rooney, not after the episode earlier in the season, but i don't let my dislike for him get in the way of my love for united. others can't say the same.

Gibson imo is average. Nothing more, nothing less but i'm not a big critic of his because he's a squad player and world class players don't play that role. I presume the point of your article is on Rooney and tbh I have to disagree with you. I think supporters should live up to their name and get behind every single player for 90 minutes on match day but i have no problem with them laying into a player on forums. Forums are here so we can give opinions and I've often voiced mine on Bebe in particular. I don't think he's anywhere near Premier League quality right now and cannot see a metamorphosis occurring where he will become a good player.

But if he plays on one of the few occasions I get over to Old Trafford, I will support him and the rest of the team.

Yes Fletcher did well to turn his form around mind you he'd do well to transform himself all over again. Anyway I can't see Gibson honestly turning into a Utd regular, sorry but the lad ain't got it. Rooney does. He has ability but for some reason his lost his way.

I don't like the PERSON of Wayne Rooney. Don't like the way he behaves off the pitch and even sometimes on it. I didn't like his open desire to leave and I was more than happy to see him sold or play out his Utd career in the reserves and train with the kids. Why? Because no one is bigger than Utd. However people make mistakes and Rooney reserved his decision and deserves a chance and the support of our fans. Time to support him. If Utd end up at Wembly for the CL final and Wayne scored the winner, I'd be surprised if there was any criticism.

As I have already pointed out, any future threads created by nohlman / LuisNani17 purely to slate Rooney will be closed, just the same as if any other poster starts posting the same opinion over and over again. If he spams other threads with his comments they will also be deleted. But if a thread is started by someone else looking to debate Rooney then he is welcome to post his opinions there - as merrysuperstevie says, this is a forum for debate, and part of the debate is that you are exposed to opinions you don't agree with. If you don't like them, I suggest you just ignore them, or use your settings to ignore him completely.

    Hope that's all cool <ok>

it would be nice if the ignore feature really ignored him. so that you cant even see he's posted something. all it does is just hide the message though, so you're still urked by the little ****er posting his usual guff, even if you don't know what it says

Gibson is a fine player. He would do well at a club like Everton and the lad has plenty of good quality about him. He wouldnt be in the United team as often if he wasnt. Is he United class? No, not imo. He lacks that little extra that makes a player United quality.

I would like to see him go on loan to an Everton or a Villa or a Birmingham and get an unbroken run in a team where he has to learn to defend and play on the back foot. It will keep him on his toes and make him a better player because he gets caught out at united to often.

On to Rooney, the guy has been one of our best players of the last decade. End of. Anyone who calls him rubbish isnt a united fan. An idiot, yes, a pretty dire man, yes. But a rubbish footballer.....only crack would make someone say that.
