The club seemed to get a lot of stick for the flags against Newcastle. Any suggestions to get the atmosphere going? I think the fans have to show more support and not get on the players back early, they did with Newcastle. Loads of moans and groans at a misplaced pass etc.

A prominent place for the In Bruce We Trust Banner would be a start.

    Any ideas.

The performance against Man City should flog a few more tickets, though it also makes the £35 ticket price look an even bigger mistake than it looked previously.

There's usually a beter atmosphere at night games, so as long as we start well, it should hopefully be good. The flags are ****, I hope we don't bother with that again, the clappers are better, at least they generate some noise.

Do we know if we're actually going to see our flag at this one?

Varying excuses and more promises about the banner. A second one could have been ready too, but I think it's currently stalled due to a lack of communication from the club.

Last discussions were that, despite informing the club at every stage, the SMC say it's too big.

Why the SMC haven't contacted me or Maulled1904 before now so any problems can be resolved is lost on me.

After the effort people went to to show their support, the manufacturers interupted their Christmas break to get it done on time, and the club can't manage to point at a space for volunteers to hang the flag.

Very poor, turning a positive into another feeling of detachment. It could have lead to more banners being provided. I can't see that happening after this treatment.

Thats terrible. I cant understand it. I thought it would be perfect next to the screen in South Stand theres a gap and then an advertisment for insurance or summat.

Can you put up mooneys email address dutch. I think we should all bombard him with our thoughts on this

I'm surprised it is lost on you, but disappointed your efforts have been tarnished. Why anyone thought any more from our club is beyond me, as they are beyond the pale and have been now for some time. I hope the Allam / Mooney apologists take note.

I can, but I'd rather people didn't bombard him as that could cause other emails to be missed.

He reads these boards, so there's more chance he'l read it on here anyway, plus others in the club will see it, so if the blames heading their way (SMC) then we could prod them into comment, if not action.

It is certainly a shameful situation. I'd be interested in Ehab opinion on such a piss poor situation being created from good will.

I'm surprised because up to the point of hanging it in the South Stand, the club via James Mooney were glowing in the efforts of the fans, talking of using it as a goodwill story.

We've had words such as those before and then it gets through to the owner, who doesn't like being associated with hooligans.

I doubt very much the owner blocked it. It's far more likely he'd actively support it.

I suspect a part of the issue is the lack of leadership involvement.

One of the things I pushed very heavily was that the banner was simply to support the club. With that in mind, all suggestions were sent to the club with the offer of any that could be perceived as contentious could be avoided.

I hope you are right, but I doubt it, as you appeared to have good responsive leadership involvement and then . .

Obviously it's a possibility, but as it wasn't from a fans group, but an informal collection of fans, and witth he caveat I edited to my earlier reply, I find it unlikely.

If anything, there's more mileage in him supporting the banners.

    It did cross my mind.

The replies from the club suggest it's just internal issues we find ourselves dragged into.

Purely guess work on my part, but it seems that each section are left to work to their own remit. A hands on boss (Ehab) would talk to James and the SMC and provide a clear decision. Without that, it looks like each is trying to be the decision maker.

Instead of 'it can't go there' it needs a positive input and a 'can do' attitude to look at what needs changing so it can go somewhere.

I could be miles off though.

The flag has "In Bruce we trust" on it. This could be seen as "Don't sack Bruce", Would Allam see this as the fans telling him how to run his business ? I hope we haven't inadvertently got Bruce the sack...

I was told Steve Bruce had been made aware of the banner when it was proposed, so I expect Ehab or Assem was.
He should have been aware of what was on the banner, before we even approached a supplier, so I doubt that they'd object once it arrived.

    I've been wrong before though.
