Adkins has said that Nicola has never mentioned that his job is at risk...oh Nigel, beware the knock on the door at midnight.
Good point Don and LM had not had any success at that point. For me the players are behind Nigel as are the fans.
Cortese mentioned when he came that he wanted stability at the club. I know he sacked Pardew, but he didn't get a bad replacement, did he? He has a good relationship with Nigel and they have a shared vision...I think he will show some patience. That doesn't, howeve,r mean that he will never act if things aren't going the way he wants. Giving NA time is the right thing to do.
Do you think he is happy the way things are gong at the moment?
Well if he is not happy and it's not going the way he wants how long does Adkin's have?
Not being happy with results and not supporting your managerial appointment are two different things.
Do you think United's owners were happy with losing the title to City at the death last season? No.
Did they lose all faith in Sir Alex and sack him? No.
Not a great example, SAF will never be sacked from united, he will leave when ever he feels fit.
I think if Aguero hadn't have scored though, there is a strong chance Mancini would have faced the axe.
For me there is a certain De Ja Vu about all this, in the mid 1970's the loyal supporters were standing by a Manager, who was under a similar campaign by a few negative numpties, we the loyal supporters won the battle to keep Lawrie Mac in the job, the rest as they say is history. There was no Internet in those days, the methods were different but the result was the right one.
Lawrie Mac. You're having a laugh. What did he do?

Got us relegated
Kept us in the 2nd Division for 4 years
Yeah, OK, he won the Cup, persuaded Alan Ball to chance 2nd Division football took us to Wembley 3 times in 3 years, almost did the double, signed Keegan in his pomp, brought back Channon, signed Peter Shilton, Dave Watson, Phil Boyer, found Steve Williams and Steve Moran ...
See my point. Useless, and this Adkins may well do the same. Get rid now, and I can lower my expectations!
