I know De Gea is getting a lot of critics now even from United fans but we should support him, he is a united player and he will be one of the best keeper in the future, he is only 21 years of age he just needs time and confident back. Give him time. i Think Sir Alex should of played Lindegaard today though. De Gea struggled today. Also i think we missed Ferdinand very much, if Ferdie was playing he wouldn't allow Liverpol players that much space especially Kuyt for the winner, Ferdie would of Alerted and told Evra to get closer to Kuyt.
It was a surprising game to stick him back in goals given that he hasn't played the last few games. Too much is made of his confidence. The media formed an opinion after his first game against City and now they will ride it for as long as they can. Where has has played well at Stoke and previously at Anfield, it hardly gets a mention. Thankfully, the commentator for Setanta placed as much blame on Carrick for being stood under the ball and allowing the header as he did against De Gea. Perhaps he could have done better with Kuyts shot. He's a quick, agile and athletic shotstopper with bags of potential. He's not the finished article yet. The great shame is, when a keeper makes a mistake, it usually results in a goal.
I honestly don't think he'll come good. His mentality isn't right for English football, and I think he'd jump at the chance of a return to Spain.
De Gea is 21 thats a very young age for a keeper, you just give him time. and for your information De Gea is a great shot stopper its just the handling of crosses in to the box he struggles with because in spain its different, just give him time.
De Gea will take time to develop. Playing him at Anfield when he hasn't playing in awhile was a poor decision. Most keeper don't peak til around 30, so he still has time. I really like the lad, in every interview he gives, he seems really devoted to making it at United. Although he does need to bulk up (he's apparently doing the same regime that Ronaldo, Nani, and Chicharito had followed when the first came to the club) but his biggest issue is mental. He know he needs to bulk up, and knows that Crosses are his weakest aspect of his game, and when ever a cross comes in, he's afraid of getting pushed off the ball and ****ing up. Which results in him ****ing up.
But there's something not right with his mentality, which I don't think will improve over time. When he makes a good save, it jolts him out of his siesta, then he gets over-excited and flaps at the next cross that comes in. Lindegaard looks much more solid and composed, but honestly I think we should've signed Brad Friedel.
De Gea is awful. The sooner Fergie admits it, the better for your team. He can't command a back 4, he can't take an aerial ball, he can't deal with opposition pressure, he can't string saves together, he can't kick, can't throw. I could go on but my fingers are tired.
