Now I've always maintained that you can only ever support one club and that allegiance cannot change for the whole of your life. However, for this week only I intend to suspend that theory and break the habit of a lifetime. This week my second eleven will be Torquay United FC. The reasoning behind this is that they can do us one big favour in the same week by beating both Dagenham and Northampton in consecutive matches. You have to say they must be favourites at home to do this but a little bit of extra cheering from this direction won't go amiss.

You can't expect other teams to come into the equation.........we need to concentrate on winning our own games and that will do the business.

What would you do sensible if..........the last game of the season meant that the lovely Crawley had to beat the only team that could stop us staying up.........would you go out and buy their scarf and wave it at the BBC DIV 2 internet results, hoping that they would win.

Nothing wrong with hoping another team will beat somebody you want to lose plymborn. It just struck me in this case that our nearest league 2 side were playing both of our nearest rivals in the same week. Nothing wrong in wishing them well. Besides, we aren't exactly going to be heading for the playoffs are we so if we can't make it then again, nothing wrong with hoping Torquay can. I have always looked on Torquay as a decent little club and fondly irrespective of what league they or we play in.

Yes Torquay are doing well...........but of course that can bring it's own pressures and expectations..........and stretch the finances to beyond there comfort zone.........and blur the line marked in the sand........and bring it all tumbling down.......having crossed that line..........It takes strong management to stop in time..........then you have disgruntled fans who tell you that you've got no vision.

    Who'd run a Football Club.

I try not to sing if I can help it. Women keep throwing pants at me when I do and I hate doing the washing. Just for 5 minutes tonight I can love 2 at the same time and I'll do it again on Saturday if they repeat the act. A small indiscretion in a lifetime is excusable sometimes. At least I didn't use the excuse "my club doesn't understand me".
