So when you go out shopping what is your preferred food shop. I like Morrison's myself, good customer service and its nice and clean plus they have a petrol station now as well and its next to my golf club, hey it ticks all the boxes Sainsbury's is probably next best for me, clean, good service and i know where stuff is.. Tesco is too big and spread out down here, don't know where they hide the stuff. Asda, ours is a ****hole, don't go in there at all unless its for my American sizzler calzone pizza. Waitrose is ok, wife does her shopping there coz its where she works. She also gets stuff from Aldi and Liddl's which are ok as well. So where do you like and dislike?
We mainly shop at the local Morrison's although we do use Sainsbury's at Silksworth Lane as well, and since they opened an Aldi just down from where I live I have shopped there a couple of times..
90% of ours is done at Tesco, because it's got everything I need and it's nearby. The other 10% is from Aldi or Waitrose. Aldi don't do organic chicken, and Waitrose's Organic chicken is about £8 per breast and I'm not Bill Gates so have to use Tesco for meat. Sainsbury's is ****ing terrible, I'd like to shop at Morrisons but their meat counter is rubbish and I'm always tempted by the pastry section, the pies smell so good.
Doing Waitrose more and more. You get vouchers with their membership card and the offers they do keep your bill down, although you have to keep an eye out for them. Quality tip top though
Tesco because it is literally a stones through from where I live, plus my wife works there so I get 10% off of everything when I flash my clubcard! The only reason that I would go to ASDA is for their pizza's cos they knock the socks off of most pizza takeaways in my area despite them being cheaper as well. I sometimes shop at Morrisons for their pasties, pies etc.
Can you put your Ocado purchases on your MyWaitrose card? I use Ocado when I do online shopping, never thought about putting it on my card though. When you order your online shop through Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys two things happen every time: 1. They replace your Rye bread with Weighwatchers ****e that is about as healthy as a dog **** pizza. 2. Everything that gets delivered goes out of date the next day.
Soz, Tel. Our Waitrose is right next to the station, so I do my shopping on the way home. Never use Ocado...
I tried that delivery service once. And exactly what you said on 2! They must go for all of the close to sell by date crap. And the bacon that turned up was meat-free! Just a packet of fat! Never again!
It's shocking mate, only Ocado don't do it, for whatever reason, maybe because they're not as big they don't stock as much food.
I/we do most of my shopping at Asda Boldon 'cos it's the best supermarket in the area . . . . it's got everything that I need as far as grocery (and petrol) shopping's concerned, I know where (virtually) everything is and it's reasonably priced Morrisons at Seaburn or Jarrow (God forbid) are okay, and they, too, have convenient petrol stations Sainsbury's in 'Sheels is okay, but it's tiny Tesco in 'Sheels is also comparatively small, the one in Sunderland, near The Stadium, is much bigger, but it doesn't have a petrol station, it's not very friendly (it's too spacious (full of emptiness !) and it hasn't got a good ambience) and it's blinking expensive, like Tesco's are Marksies is Marksies and we shop there when we're at The Metro Centre for 'Marksies food' would you believe, as a treat, although the quality isn't what it used to be For specialist food like steak and shell fish I use an online supplier based in Inverurie, Scotland
