Thought his tweet was quite funny, not racist "Donât be racist Be like Mario Heâs an ITALIAN plumber Created by JAPANESE people Who speaks ENGLISH And looks like a MEXICANâ¦. Jumps like a BLACK man And grabs coins like a JEW"
It's funny but it's definitely racist. You can't say Jewish people are money grabbers in the modern world, simple as that.
Not quite what Brendan had in mind when he asked Balotelli to 'Be more like Suarez'. ****nugget Balotelli, he's just thick, he's no racist. He'll still get done for it though.
It's a stereotype that's not true that's degrading to an entire religion, I can see where the Jewish could get offended. I doubt they are offended mind, it's probably more offensive to do-gooders who get offended by anything.
Sterotype that's not true, yes, but I still don't see how it's offensive. Like saying black men jump high. It's not true but it's also not offensive. As you say, it is more than likely only the do gooders who care, the fashionable thing these days is to be offended. You are either offended or an offender these days, it seems.
I'm definitely an offender! The money grabbing part could be deemed offensive, because it's an implication that they're all tight as ****. Not exactly a quality characteristic to have, so whilst it's barely offensive, it's still has negative connotations, so once The Offended Crew get wind of this, this'll be tantamount to saying they all deserved what happened in the holocaust, so long as it gets the Offended Crew a few column inches.
The thing is Terry, these do-gooders get offended on other peoples behalf when, 99 times out of 100, they wouldn`t be. It`s been the source of jokes for donkeys years. Jews & money. Scots & mean. Irish & thick. Plenty of Paddy & Mick jokes and the Irish don`t take offence.
I completely agree mate, I was just trying to highlight the logic behind how the do-gooders take offence on behalf of the Jews. My Mrs' family are Jewish, they'd never get offended by this even with it being a Liverpool player, and they all hate Liverpool! Poor Mario, he was probably trying to do the opposite and just put his foot in it!
It's racist in the eyes of today's society. No doubt at all. But I find it amusing. Does that make me a racist? It probably does. Even though I know real racism is fueled by hate not humor, society will still deem me a racist. That's the top and bottom of it.
Technically, there's a case for the Black Man and the Mexican to be offended by the cartoon, but again, I doubt any of them are actually offended. Ironically, Balotelli left Italy to escape what was actual racist hatred spewed at him from real racists.
Could be something to do with the fact that jews have been persecuted and murdered for centuries due to that fact they were seen as money grabbing. I repeat I find it funny but it's most definitely within the definition of racism.
Jewish isn't a race it's a religon... This is the world we live in, impossible to say anything without it being inappropriate to someone. I agree with Terry it is probably more offensive to the do-gooders more than any of the 'races' mentioned... On a side note, I didn't realise Italians were stereotyped as plumbers that were creaded by Japanese people lol :-/
There f**ing is mate... you wanna see them running to the butchers/bakers when he's selling cut-price meat pies. please log in to view this image
