liking the Bears for my dark horse but my winner is going to be the Texans And the wooden spoon going to a winless jaguars
Ravens are my pick. Jaguars are the easy way to go for #1 and with good reason, they're looking terrible.
I really fancy the patriots to win it this year. Added some nice pieces during the offseason. I've got money on the Bears though, got odds of 50/1 a while back and that was far to good to pass up, if they stay healthy there is no reason why they can't win it!
Its rather open this year, several teams could sneak a playoff spot and from then on its anybody's guess. I would like to see Green bay sneak in. After a dodgy start they have sured up a little. But they still leak far too many points for my liking and could easily end up loosing in the playoffs.
I would love to see the Bears win it as there my favourite team but can't see it myself so I'm going for either the Falcons or the Texans.
I would have said 49ers but I don't know if kapernick or smith can sustain in playoffs. Houston is a good bet. I would have guessed packers at start of the season but their o-line has been terrible.
The 49ers don't need Smith or Kaepernick to sustain in the playoffs. They could win it with the D alone! Factor in Gore and the power run game and you don't need a QB to "win" games for you! Take last years NFCCG, they only lost that on a muffed punt and Alex was terrible in that game!
Wide open this year.. AFC: Texans have won ugly the last two games (sign of a good team?) and when they played the Packers got taken apart, Sunday night against the Pats will go a long way towards showing if they are here to stay or 1 and done in the playoffs.. My team, the Pats, defence gives up big plays but when you look at their points against, they're 13th? So it bends but doesn't break all that much, that along with the #1 offense means we should make a good run for the Super Bowl again this year, home-field advantage is unlikely, even if we beat the Texans, but would like to clinch the #2 seed and get a first round bye Ravens, great D but I don't trust Flaco, can't put it on Ray Rice all the time! Dark horses (pardon the pun), Bronco's, solid D and with an all time Great QB in Manning, they'll always have a chance. If Pittsburgh can get Big Ben back in the line-up soon, they could well make a run for the AFC North title as well as the Bengals, that division is still all to play for.. Outside bets in the AFC Indy, heard about Luck but never saw him play... the boys got game, they may/should make the playoffs but I think they'll be 1 and done, right now predicted to meet Paytons Bronco's @ Mile high, how good would that be? NFC: Falcon’s even though they’ve got the best record in the NFC I don’t think they’re the best team, they’ll get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, may even get to the NFC Championship game, but I don’t see them going further.. NFC East, not a clue who’s gonna win that, NY Giants do tend to come good this time of year but Manning hasn’t been that consistent this year? RGIII, rookie of the year? Think they may just come up short but if the Skins build a team around him, they’ll be contenders for a decade and more! Dallas, your guess is as good as mine, with that talent they should be better than .500 Green bay will take the NFC North, The Bears are going through a slump at the wrong time, they should make the playoffs though but I don’t see them going all the way. Seahawks aren’t out of the running for the NFC West and no one will want to play them on their turf, Wilson is finally getting the praise he deserves, Niners dropping Smith for Kaeperneck (sp?) could well bite them in the rear! Proven against lowly St Louis Rams that a good D and run game won’t always get the job done! Predctions (depends on the final seedings): AFC Championship game: Broncos @ Pats NFC Championship game: Green Bay @ Falcons
Good post Jonny. I think Seattle instead of Green Bay for the NFC crown. Something about the Seahawks this year... Broncos v. Pats for the AFC title is spot on. Peyton Manning knows how to win.
Cheers.. I like Seattle too, but I'm not sure Wilson is playoff ready, great at home, not so away, if they don't win the NFC West they could be 1 and done.. Remarkable turnaround for the NFC West as a whole, only a year or two ago was a laugh stock of a division, not so now (and for the foreseable future..) Nobody likes to go to Lambeau in Jan (well, apart from the Giants), Green Bay haven't hit top form, yet they're now in control of that division, I can see them getting a first round bye and as long as the Giants don't turn up again to spoil the party, see them getting to the NFC Championship game.
Whilst we have Brady we're OK.. however I am a bit jealous, you guys, along with the Skins and even the Hawks have your franchise QBs for years and years to come! Also, whilst Indy during the Manning years were our main AFC rivals, I still liked the Colts, Reggie Wayne one of my all time fav. wideouts!
Reggie's quality, he's had a new lease of life this year and has been having the best year of his career!! It's amazing how good this year's rookie QBs have been. I watch a lot of draft-ready college players and I really don't like any of the QBs entering the draft this year.
We are miles away from top form. We have played pretty well recently, but our poor start to the season is hampering us. I think the Bears will push us in Chicago and could be the biggest threat to our hopes.
