Here's the squad for Team GB

Squad: J Allen (Swansea), C Bellamy (Liverpool), R Bertrand (Chelsea), J Butland (Birmingham), S Caulker (Tottenham), T Cleverley (Manchester United), J Cork (Southampton), C Dawson (West Brom), R Giggs (Manchester United), A Ramsey (Arsenal), M Richards (Manchester City), D Rose (Tottenham), S Sinclair (Swansea), M Sordell (Bolton), J Steele (Middlesbrough), D Sturridge (Chelsea), N Taylor (Swansea), J Tomkins (West Ham)

We have three direct representatives - Allen, Sinclair, Tayor - and one indirect in Caulker.

    Can the rest keep up!

Swansea way is the only way. This just shows how young our Prem Team was last season and how solid in its "youth". This team will show Hodgson how to play the game.

    Time to be proud.

Great to see our players getting the recognition they deserve. It's a shame Hodgson didn't consider any for his squad. As Vennables and Ferdinand have said recently Britton can be England's Xavi.

As much as the Swansea players would probably want to play in the olympics i,m not a big fan of them playing in it incase they would pick up injuries or interupt our pre season but saying all that i hope they do well and come out of it unscathed.

Beats standing on cold cement in the middle of winter (dues paid in full) ..... or sweating buckets in the middle of August at the stadium .... did I mention my central air conditioning. :emoticon-0103-cool:

BTW - does anybody now anything about the other players. I'm presuming the likes of Ramsay, Allen, Giggs, Richards and Bellamy will probably be starting - with Caulker alongside Richards at the center of defense. What about the rest.

Looks like we might be playing with a false #9 .... <whistle>

I have to say well done to the players. But, i for one dont want any of our players near this. This competiotion finishes 6 days before the start of the new season. I just dont want any of our players having the chance of getting injured playing for a team that doesnt really exist by that i mean, there was no Gb side yesterday and there wont be another one after 11th of August. Lets just hope we are not going to be looking in the transfer market to replace one or two of them if badly injured. Then there is the other part that 3 main players from our squad will miss the majority of pre season, hardly good preperation for what is probably going to be our biggest season to date.

Once gain well done to them, just wish they werent there.

Can I just say that the players in the team is a good thing as I think this will be used like a Pre-season tour, they are athletes and they will develop as players in the olympics.

Mixed emotions about this , what a great honour for the lads , probably once in life time opportunity and a chance to show the world what they can do .Hopefully they will all come through the experience unscathed and not at a cost to the club

It also shows a great deal of honouring of the club's way of doing things. I hope for your sakes that your lads and indeed all of the players come through it unscathed.

    Well done Swans.

Great news for the players chosen. im happy that these boys are getting credit for their acheivements and also very proud to see the club being represented so strongly.

It could be a blessing in disguise in terms of pre-season, its possible that ML will be bringing in players that could be covering those positions and it would give them a chance to stake a claim, the boys missing pre-season will naturally be lower in the pecking order..or at least they hopefully will be!

Point is it could be a chance to grow some strength in depth, of course these players will be missed but if we cant get by without them in pre-season it will be looking grim if we get injuries later on in the prem campaign .Having some of these boys away with UK will be a good test of how strong our squad is, hopefully they dont get injuries though !!
