Getting this up nice and early, although as the weights haven't been published yet, there's not a lot you can do! Going with the Peter Marsh Chase Limited Handicap. Wasn't my first choice, but I know it won't cut up, and will be an open and competitive race. Welcome new player Theinconvenienttruth4, who unfortunately has to start at the foot of the table, although only 3 points off 8th place! I'll try to resist the not606 trend of shortening ID names, as his acronym would be TIT, but will have to come up with one as it's playing havoc with my spreadsheet spacing! As is the case when the league has an odd number, the bottom player issues the challenge to the next TWO players, so you have Cats and Blue in your sights mate! Challengers first - post selections here please, and good luck all
Still not clear on that double challenge bit Reebs. It Tint beats both Cats and Blue how many points is that worth? If he beats one of them, but not the other, how many points is that worth? If he loses to both, do they both get 3 points. Sorry if I'm being thick.
No prob Ron, you aint thick, although I'm not so sure about me! As I have been adjusting the comp on the fly since week one, I'm having to try to cover all contingencies as they arise. As Tint's selection is the one that Cats and Blue have to beat, they will both get 3 points each if they do so. Tint will get 3 points if he beats either of the two defenders. No one will ever gain 6 points in any one week. This gives a very slight advantage to the challenger, as he has 2 chances to gain points, but as this will only ever affect the bottom player, I don't see that as being unduly generous. By all means continue to look for possible problems though - I want players to enjoy the competition, otherwise there is no point running it - we seem to be heading towards a settled format so hopefully everyone will be happy with it
2 options as I see it: 1. 1.5 points each 2. Biggest profit wins (points shared if equal) Over to you Reebs.
I'm not sure that Oddy's comment was meant to be taken seriously Ron, but highest profit always wins if both horses are placed, even of they do dead heat. And in the unlikely event of returns also being the same I'd have to call it a draw and award 1.5 points each Another random scenario: even if both horses fall, or get pulled up, the "winner" is the one that travels furthest, in the event that they both bow out at the same time, again I'll call this a draw and award 1.5 points each. Maybe I should do a FAQ sheet
Ok Reebs, how about this one..... There is a race that for some reason contains both Mad Moose and Sariska. The challenger chooses one and the defender chooses the other. They are both in one of their mardy moods and stay in the stalls and refuse to race. What happens then as neither have even started the race?
Im here to gamble, not make money so before the weights are out ill side with the good Dr' Night Alliance please Reebok
Weights are out now Truth, yours looks a good call though. I'm surprised at there only being 10 decs at this stage, I really expected more to hold their ground. But it is what it is, and it's the same for everyone!
The other day I thought Katenko as soon as I saw him entered. However I'm now thinking it might rest between Merry King and The Minack. Just thinking out loud City Hull. I'll decide tomorrow night.
Reebs off to hamburg for the weekend so won't get on tomorrow and can't find how to private message on phone, my selections Night alliance we Reserve - chance du Roy
