After last week's revision of the scoring process produced a mightily different table than previously, with just three players actually scoring, I'm adding a final tweak. If both challenger and defender fail to place, I'll award the 3 points to the highest finisher as per official results. If both horses fail to finish then no points will be awarded. This week is the chance to get points on board for most of you! Note that the challenges start from position 16 upwards, with Havinacow taking a suspension after missing the last two weeks. This week's target race is the Lanzarote Hurdle - 14-40 at Kempton. I'd have liked it to be the Tolworth, but that is down to 7 runners - 6 after the intended defection of Creepy. 1. Reebok 2. Redcgull C 3. Jambawamba 4. Brough Tiger C 5. Bucks 6. Chaninbar C 7. Oddy 8. Steveo77 C 9. Uncle Cracker 10. Smokethedeadbadger C 11. Cityhull 12. Sir Percy C 13. Bluesky 14. Ron C 15. Mwildcats 16. Wooly C 17. Havinacow SUS If anyone else wants to take part please PM me - this includes refugees Bob and Stick Good luck all
I'm giving you a chance here Blue. The favourite Junction Fourteen stands an obvious chance but I'm going for Junction Fourteen (ew) Corrected below
Forgive me as i havent been on here all week but what is the situation when a challenger/defender fails to post a selection? I only ask as my challenger didnt turn up last week so i never had a chance to defend and so dropped down from 1st to 4th
Hi Brough The table was completely reset due to the new scoring system, apologies if you hadn't spotted that, but it was well documented in last week's threads. We now award 3 points to the winner, and zero to the loser. In fact there are 13 joint fourths! You still play against one other player, so all you need do is better that player's result to get the three points. A challenger failing to make a challenge will be deducted a point, a defender failing to defend will lose by default assuming the challenger has made a challenge. A player missing for two weeks will be suspended for 1 week, a further no-show will see him removed from the league. If this is still unclear mate, give me a call EDIT: I have re-thought this and it seems unfair that a defender is unable to add to his total by virtue of the challenger not turning up. So .... in the event of any player not making a selection, the 3 points will do to his opponent. Hope you all agree that this is fair
Ah ok. I'm sure it was mentioned, I just haven't had time to read anything on here for a while and there has been so much changing around! Sounds good though, I'm sure it won't be long before I regain my crown
Sorry, copy & paste slip. Should say: I'm giving you a chance here Blue. The favourite Junction Fourteen stands an obvious chance but I'm going for If In Doubt (ew)
I am going for River maiague ew Ron, I think he is class and his debut would have put him spot on for this. Good luck
Oddy's pick is Spirit of Shankly ew Jamba: I was in the same position - in fact I've now backed one, so I'm hoping Red goes for the other!
Now then Reebok... I like 2 of em but you only want 1 don't you... I like Kaylif Aramis but ive gone away from him for River Maigue e/w... It was a coin toss for me so I will be peeved if KA dos come in ahead of RM... Cheers pal, and good luck...
Surprised me somewhat there Red - my two where Saphir Du Rheu and Junction 14, and I felt that if you chose one of those ew, I'd have to take the other to win. So ............... Saphir Du Rheu ew is my selection and my bet - with J14 for the forecast!
