Hello all, My views on todays racing Chester 2.25 Mappin Time - 7/2 - I think the draw of stall 1 is important but more important is that we have so many pace angles that the race should be run to suit Mappin Time. He has dropped down the handicap to a mark that looks very feasible and his effort last time looked very promising (open handicap). He has the headgear put back on here and I think with a clear passage he will be winning this. NAP Sandown 3.20 Raihana - 11/1 - I just think this horse is too big in the market for this listed race. She is drawn relatively low and I think she is one of the best horses in the race on her handicap Dubai form. She should love this trip and if the ground suits then she would have to go close. 3.55 La Fortunata - 6/1 - I hope she enjoys the cut in the ground, if she does then I think she will win this from the front. She has the pace to lead up and she has the plum draw. York 3.40 Salute Him - 33/1 - Form from last year looks fine and he has been given an interesting time since that race. He is down in the weights and this looks like a right old plot horse.
Morning Nass . I had a terrible day at York yesterday punting wise not one winner but it was a fantastic day out and was really nice to meet Chippy Minton. What a lovely track also. My NAP today is REEM in the 3.20 at Sandown 50/1 available in places - stupid price got there hacking along last time out but bombed out should be fitter for that run
With you on Mappin Time Nass, although that might be bad luck for you with my current form! 9 pound pull with Jamesway for a half on length on first run at Chester this season, Jamesway also got a lovely trip that day from a good draw. As you say, alot of pace in the race and has to be involved if on a going day and getting luck in running.
morning folks. glad some of you have taken an interest in sandown as I'm off there today and it looks fiendish! my only real fancy is now a non-runner so I may have to piggy back my way to a fortune. good luck all.
RV pleased you had a good day at York yesterday its my favourite race course (less the public transport and traffic i think its the best in UK). Good to hear you are meeting fellow members off here, get yourself to Catterick next Wednesday, free tickets available would be great to meet you. One for me today at Chester, TOMINATOR failed to make the cut for the EBOR today, however, he is switched to Chester were he kept his entry. My logic is that the stable think is ready and should run a big race in a lesser field here today and at odds of 6/1 is my NAP for today. Good luck today guys, Derby days is here lets hope its a Red and White Day, Haway The Lads
Morning All A few fancies for today : 2.00 York - Dream Eater 7/1 (B365) 2.30 York - Lyric Street 10/1 (B365) 3.05 York - Blue Bajan 8/1 (B365) NAP - Might be getting on but efforts this season show he still has the appetite for the game and I reckon could go very close today. 3.40 York - Saptapadi 8/1 (B365) - Fallon Rides and the trainer was pretty bullish about him on the morning line. 3.40 York - Salute Him 33/1 (B365) - In agreement with Nass Here. 5th in this last year, 5lb drop in the ratings aswell, so think at the price and 5 places then its a cracking bet. Cheers Trevez
Wayward. Yes smashing course. Busy working with my Uncle for the next couple of weeks - will get down one time soon though thanks for the offer. Good luck with Tominator today. Some cracking race but very hard - gone for a MODUN & ARCH FIRE DOUBLE for Stoutey. Off to watch the game and will be back for the racing. This is massive come on the TOOOOONNN (would take a point though) Shola a cert for anytime goal
Not a good week at York so far, so hoping for a change in fortunes today. Y 2:00 King Torus 9/2 Y 2:30 Parlour Games 12/1 Y 3:05 Opinion Poll 7/2 Y 3.40 Modum 7/1 Lucky 15 and away from York San 2:15 Chain Lightning 5/1 San 3:55 Drift & Dream 6/1 Bath 6:40 Joe Packet (Nap) 11/2 Chester 2:25 Mappin Time 7/2 Chester 4:10 I'll De Re 5/1 Win Lucky 31 Good luck all.
belatedly cheers nass. I read what you wrote earlier, thought that ches was short for chester rather than chesney and thought you were stating the obvious about the roodeye! tricast in the 3.15 sorted.
Why hasn't this got a'sticky' as today's Daily Thread? Some outsiders for today Ted Spread in the Ebor Brevity in the Atlanta at Sandown Wayward Glance in the Melrose at York
Afternoon guys, few I like the look of for today Sandown 2.15 Ramona Chase 33/1 Came 2nd off the same mark here at Sandown over 10f when a fast finishing 2nd. Steps up 2f which will be no problem, and acts well on softer ground. Up in class but subsequently races off a featherweight of 7-12 and the capable Andrea Atzeni, who has a 24% strike rate at the track, takes the ride for a horse that looks hugely overpriced. 3.55 Oil Strike 16/1 Put in a very disappointing effort LTO when a heavily backed favourite but was said to have not acted on the track. If you discount that effort, Oil Strike certainly looks on a very good mark. He has fallen 2lbs since finishing a very good 3L 4th behind Kanaf when he met a lot of trouble in running and if the drop back to 5f for only the 2nd time in his career suits then 16s appears very big Curragh 2.40 Bible Black 6/1 Bible Black - went into my tracker after a ridiculously unlucky debut effort at Dundalk and confirmed that promise on his only 2 subsequent starts, finally getting off the mark impressively LTO despite still appearing green as he won by 4.5L in a maiden. Although this is much tougher, Bible Black seems quite an improving sort and with Johnny Murtagh on board and money coming 6s he looks to have a big chance. York 2.30 Wayward Glance 25/1 Wayward Glance - very nicely bred individual who hasn't really lived up to reputation. Finally got off the mark LTO when dropped to poor Maiden company but absolutely hosed up that day and races off the same mark. WG goes for the very in form Michael Bell yard and I think it is very interesting that Wayne Lordan rides for this yard for the first time. Lordan gets down to 7-13 (lowest weight this year but had to get to 8-1 for Requinto yesterday) and off an absolute featherweight I think Wayward Glance can definitely outrun his hefty odds.
I have to say Opinion Poll looks a very solid proposition in the Lonsdale Cup - his second behind Fame and Glory and subsequent Goodwood Cup victory shows his is in fabulous nick. I would have him more like a 6/4 chance against this field so 7/2 looks tremendous value. Nap today is the twisters Mad Moose E/W in the 2.50 at Newton Abbot. Good luck everybody
