http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/championship-play-off-final-blackpools-kevin-839144 I would just love to see Super Kev once more at the SOL in his final year in the game. To be still playing and scoring at the age of 38 and still at a very high level (17 goals again this term form mainly sub appearances is tremendous imo) and I'm sure everyone associated with SAFC wou,d welcome the chance to again give him the kind of last goodbye he will cherish for the rest of his life. I'm going completely Orange today? Oh, and we can get him into our Legends team for the 2013/14 season. Lol
Like a rancid, stinking turd in a swimming pool, the craas turn up unannounced, uninvited and completely ruin the good time had by all. Please keep your cak filled thoughts to yourself in future.
I'd love to see that Comm. I have a couple of good mates who are West Ham fans, but try as I might, I can't want anything other than Superkev , Ollie & Blackpool to win.
I love that man, I would even fly over to the UK to see SAFC at home to Blackpool if he was playing. (so long as I wasn't working). To applaud that man as he runs on to the pitch would be tremendous.
Emailed my mate, told him we were all orange in our pub today, got a slapped wrist, so today in our pub were all TANGERINE,.
I remember the old days when our away game at Blackpool seemed to always occur when the illuminations were on.
I fancy him coming off the bench with the scores level and super kev pops up with the winner. Come on Blackpool
I know when we go on about Kevin Phillips a lot of supporters outside of Sunderland don't really see why he was so special, but I don't think that he gets enought applauds for what he has achieved. 607 senior appearances with 271 goals ( a little over a goal every 2 games ) and without being disrespectful not always in a good side. This is from a player who didn't come into the pro game until he was 21 With Watford and before he moved to us lost a whole year to a foot injury. Most remembered by Sunderland fans for scoring 30 goals in one season in the premiership in 1999-2000 (Had a season total of 35 ) this not only won him the golden boot winner in the premiership but also the european golden shoe ( he remains the only Englishman to have won the trophy ) I think a true modern day great that never got the status his talents deserved.
Very true and this brings in the loyalty issue, was he too loyal to us? He could have gone after that 30 goal season or the one after I remember Spurs weighing up a big bid. I wouldnt have begrudged him a move to further his career.
he did put 3 transfer requests in, but they got refused/turned down. I dont think he was too loyal at all, I think the club at the time, were far too loyal to him IE we HAVE to keep him or we are ****ed. Personally I thought we should have sold him to leeds for 20 million when bid came in.
It was never my intention to slag him off, but he did have ambition, he put in 3 transfer requests, lack of ambition/Loyalty is a fine line to me. he wanted to go to a better club at the time, we didnt let him, imho more fool us, we should have took the 20 million, as lets face it, we were not brimming with cash at the time.
Spurs, Leeds & Lazio all failed with bids around the £17million mark if I remember right. There were rumours of Liverpool & Arsenal as well, but I don't think they actually made a move.
still undecieded who I want to win If West Ham are seriously gunna be interested in Elmo if they go up then great as we certainly don't need him anymore and would give us a better chance to go and get Matt Phillips at Blackpool. As for Blackpool I like there manager and I really enjoyed watching them in the prem last time around not forgetting I would be buzzing to see Super Kev run out once more at the SoL. may the best team win
