I've read a lot of nonsense on here from some fans saying that Kelv is not good enough if are promoted. Well if we do get promoted this season, it will be in no small part, due to the excellence of his goalkeeping. Once again tonight he saved us a point at the death and IMO is in the form of his life. A good keeper is a good keeper no matter which division he is playing in.
He's great, I have no doubt. Sometimes he's not quite as dominating a presence in the air as we might like, but neither is De Gea. He's got great reflexes and appears to have good communication with his back line. Ain't broke, don't fix it.
Always said lots of our fans should be careful what they wish for Kelvin will do for me all day long and i suspect he is well respected for his experience and knowhow in his position by his opponents and fellow keepers as well as his teamates some times his kicking can on occasion let him down but this is offset by his general great skills as a keeper
With Davis, Hooiveld, Lallana and Lambert the spine of the team we have the foundations to win any game .
Oh dear, I was just about to launch into a Kelvin Davis proved his doubters wrong, type post, then I realised, in St Godders revealing style [sorry StG], that I'm a Uni educated, political leftie [well certainly left of this coalition at least], so my post counts for sod all. Plus I'm a tree hugger as my degree in in Environmental Sciences, so in the public opinion, I'm completely debunked [though in truth I'm not]. At heart, Kelvin has proven his worth, time and again. His non-West Ham transfer [that's ironic] seems a million years in the past, and almost Le Tissier like, as he equalled the more youthful ex-England keeper, Rob Green in every department. Thanks for staying, KD. Much appreciated.
picky..me? You'll be calling me a pedant next. sounded like he had a good game tonight. I think he gives a lot of confidence to the defenders with his talking. I did panic abit in the first half when Claridge said he slapped Cole in the face. I thought "oops, no keeper on the bench"
I'd say I thought... oops, no spare keeper on the bench, about half a dozen times this evening. Do you reckon we should ask Adkins for the Lottery numbers..?
