As much as I respect and love the guy. I just wouldnt want him back, would be too worried he'd just feck off again if he didnt get his own way.

Never. Lost all respect i had for him in the second stint as manager. Quit because he couldn't get his own way, neither could Hughton and look how well respected he was while he was manager. Loves the club yet takes us to court for millions. I'd never welcome him back, he's always going to be known as a quitter now

I didn't mean i'd have him back, but there will always be a part of me that wants him back.

i really have zero afinity with him.

im too young to remember him as manager or player in his first term and in his second he just moaned about how unfair his life is and then had no problem in trying to bankrupt us for his own gain.

i couldnt think of anything worse than having him back.

Too young to remember maybe. But imagine if we'd finished 2 places off the relegation zone in the championship when we were there; then an old legend player took over and got us promoted as champions and then a 3rd position premier league finish the next year followed by a top 6 finish and then two years as runners up playing some of the most entertaining football the league has seen.
You don't have to have been around at the time to know that this is a feat deserved of eternal praise; and that is why people will say 'part of me wants him back' regardless of how he may have tainted his image in recent years.

Which 'Top Manager' would be interested in taking over a team about to get relegated to third tier football? It was his first stab at managerial work and he did a great job of bringing the team together, and exciting the fans by playing exciting attacking football.

Of course, that's fair enough if you don't feel any love for the guy. Just explaining why many people would oppose your opinion of 'thinking of nothing worse than having him back'. Also find it a little odd that while you aren't able to regard his first reign in your opinion of him because you were 'too young', you still use his failure to win silverware as a rod to beat him with.

I'd take back KK in an instant. Not as manager, but as honcho of the best youth academy (13-18yrs, say) in the land. He has so much to offer, so much enthusiasm, honesty and experience, and he has such a great affinity with the club.

Wow I guess an extra year or two as a young 'un really can make the difference as I can remember a great deal of his reign from around 93-94 (first year at school in 93 & our first in the prem) onwards. 95-96 was a great personal favourite of mine despite us blowing the title & I remember being in a dreamland when Shearer signed!

The guy was a legend first time round as manager, so-so second time and left us up **** creek without a paddle so I wouldn't take him back. If we ever did it would be a further backward step as he will only taint further his time as a player and then as a manger as he has already lost legend status with some of the younger fans.

Who thought Newcastle fans would one day say "I'd rather have Pardew than Keegan!" How times change!
