"Super-computer" predicts Championship table: Find out where Bristol City, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough will finish
The computer has seen enough to confidently predict an outcome.

    1 Middlesbrough (champions)
    2 Leeds United (automatic promotion)
    3 West Bromwich Albion (play-offs)
    4 Brentford (play-offs)
    5 Derby County (play-offs)
    6 Swansea City (play-offs)
    7 Sheffield United
    8 Stoke City
    9 Preston North End
    10 Nottingham Forest
    11 Aston Villa
    12 Wigan Athletic
    13 Bristol City
    14 Blackburn Rovers
    15 Sheffield Wednesday
    16 Bolton Wanderers
    17 Millwall
    18 Norwich City
    19 Birmingham City
    20 Ipswich Town
    21 Rotherham United
    22 Hull City (relegated)
    23 Queens Park Rangers (relegated)
    24 Reading (relegated)

I monitored that computer from some uni last year that predicted game results and success rate fell below 38% however comparing the forcasted team to lose it was over 44% …. .. so bit like the BBC before they changed from met office to meteo …. " sunny today to likely sunny tomorrow …. ops it rained, so rain tomorrow ...ooops it snowed! …………………. lol

But while it got individual results more wrong than correct, did it get the final league positions more correct? It's still early so I am not sure if that is a dumb question!!! Can it get final position correct if it gets results wrong......

That’s how some people are predicting our own season on OTIB - they kept going on about our poor run after Christmas as carrying on into this season - despite a big change of squad members.
‘We lost a fair few at the backend of last season, so that means we will have a poor start to this one’

The form is pretty much predicted off the starts teams have had, we all know that can be a blip. I don't see Reading & Hull getting relegated and I don't see PNE in the top 10 either.

We are were we could well end up, I don't think we will be any lower than13th.

it didn't predict the league,it would give ……

home 50% draw 32% away 18% or of course variations … usually an AWAY would be marginally better than a draw with the home being 20-25%
law of averages indicate that over a season there are more homes than aways … double? and draws about 30%

a computer does what it is told ! [ at the moment ...lol …] when they feed in a Algorithm. .. that Algorithm responds to what they type in has happened on the matchday just gone to predict the next result. If they type in W D L it has a different result to should they feed in gale force wind, player sent off after 5 mins, fielded a team lacking x players suspensions injured etc... so hard to predict the result ask the brave souls who do my championship prediction post … but having said that the majority of the predictions are pretty close, especially if divide the table into 4 /6 overlapping segments and judge on the segment they fall into ………….
? a team finish's higher because it scores more goals, GD but IT actually loses more points to the team/s it finish's level on SO WHY NOT THAT TEAM BE PLACED HIGHER??

jgf2, John why don't you copy and paste the computer prediction table and add it to our predictions in the final league table thread you are running and we can compare it at the seasons end.

at the mo the super comp has in groups of 8 [08/09/2018] ……….

    top 8
    top 2 correct on points
5 of the top 6 missing is WBA
    6 of the top 8 ...............…...missing WBA 9th and Stoke 18th

    middle 8
    5 of the 8
3 teams missing are city 6th Bolton 8th PNE 19th

    bottom 8
    6 of the 8,
missing is Rotherham 15th and Millwall 16th
    bottom 3 correct,
5 of the bottom 6 ..............missing is Rotherham 15th

It would be fair to say that without to much knowledge [human] if you had to predict now, after 6 games it would be pretty close to the actual table …………. however we predicted from the start ………….

We all have LEEDS TOP 8,
all bar one who have them 3rd in top 2 is Middsboro
all bar 1 who put them 15th have QPR bottom 8
majority have Hull bottom 8 best placed is 10th
Reading, majority is in bottom 8 best is 13th ..

At this point looking at my table I would have [ after 6 games ] made a "few adjustments"... Leeds swap with Stoke and Derby with Swansea …. Bolton with Hull ……...
