McCartney, Angeleri, Killgallon and Nosworthy....... possibly. If we aren't able to get these 4 off the wage bill it looks possible that we won't be able to.bring in anymore players and we are still lacking atleast that one player who can come in and help us push on. You have to think the club are losing around 100k a week on these four and none are anywhere near the first team. Bringing me to my next point if we aren't able to find buyers for these does anyone else agree with me that they should have a little pride and integrity and agree to have their contracts cancelled for free? I know football is a short career and they are more than likely fathers and have a family but its not as if they will be on a working class wage when they sign a contract for there new clubs. Surely their love of the game and desire to play should override a contentment to sit on the side lines to the financial detriment of their employer? Its quite depressing to think that this scenario seems a pivotal factor in holding us back from being in a fantastic position to give the big boys a real scare this season. I genuinely think that the acquisition of even just one more quality signing will see us looking down on the Villas and Evertons and have the Liverpools and the spurs looking nervously over their shoulders.

If your company/ club / whatever needed a sacrifice - someone who said "ok lads, we're in the clarts, i'll go" Would you do it? Would anyone? I don't love my job and we are in dire straights (am not talkin about the band). Am not goin to volunteer. Why should or - more importantly - would they?

We got them in good faith, hoping they could do a job. We sold them a vision that they bought.

We have no right to expect them to be noble and just drift off pro-bono. I wouldn't. I won't.

It happens. You can't compare us as normal people and employees to millionaire footballers. They.could.all retire tomorrow and never want for.anything till the day they die. They will all get a handsome signing on fee at their new clubs and atleaat.5 figure wages each week. Surely they want to.be part of something rather than holding something back out of financial greed.

I disagree. You're 27, 29, 31, whatever and have been courted to do a job - defend, pass, score. You're a PROFESSIONAL. You reckon you can do it. It's your job, so you try.

They aren't defending, passing or scoring for safc though and they know they have no future at this football club. all 4 are a decent age and still have a good few years ahead of them. Why stay put and the best you can hope for is a loan to a club you don't really want to go to. surely this is football pergatory. I think the 3 apart from angeleri are all decent players at championship level and could be an integral part of many clubs at that level rather than knowingly being unwanted dead wood at safc.

I think the best bet as far as McCartney goes is to find a club willing to take him on a loan for 2 years. Sort out a contract where we pay the % of his wages they can't afford until he is out of contract. Then its up to him. That way if he plays well he will earn himself a deal with them when his deal with us is up.

With Angeleri we let him go free back to South America, he will get a decent wage and signing on fee back there

Nos we should try and sell or let go free, he has less left on his contract, we might need to pay him off but it should not be a massive amount.

I personally don't think Killgallon is on a massive wage and there are clubs interested in him, I think we just sell him, don't be greedy just get a fair price. I personally don't think he was ever given a fair chance, I always thought he did well when he played. Potential cover for LB too as he is actually left footed.

I think all this money thing is a smoke screen anyway, we just don't want other clubs to think we have loads of money because we want to get good value when buying.

Yeah, what I say goes haha. On a serious note, sessegnon took a wage cut to come here such was his desire to test himself in the premier league, that's ambition. These players know they aren't wanted here, but would be, very much so at another club.

I actually think out of the 4 angeleri is maybe the one we could recoup some decent cash for, a team in s.america may rate him on his time there and pay a decent figure to take him back out there. If reports about mccartney being on.40k a week are true id be touting him to every club on the planet free of charge with a pre paid flight and two tickets to.next summers concert at the sol thrown in for any willing taker Nos and Killgallon would make a decent championship pairing and id take a nominal fee for either of them. Id rather let them all go free than lose the 100k or so a week and have them.go on loan.again.with us still picking up the bill.

But where are the likes of Ringo, etc going next? Not Spurs... Not Wigan... Not Bristol City.

    Port Vale? Lincoln?

They will be with us to the death. I WOULD.

Would you not rather play week.in.week out for.a club that wants you? even if it meant less money? These are the real mercenaries if this be the case, not the nzogias and bents of the world as they.are accused
