    They'll lose to both. Wolves and West Ham are desperate for survival and Sunderland's defence isnt the greatest

    I'm not too arsed about finishing below them to be honest. As long as we stay up, which we have done with two games to spare.

    Am I right in thinking we're mathematically safe now? I'm sure someone said we weren't but if Blackpool and Wolves win, we're still 7 points above them with 6 left to play for...

    Yes we are mathmatically safe; Wigan gan only get 42pts, Wolves 43pts and West Ham 39pts (As Wigan play West Ham next week that is the max for each team but they will take pts off each other so they will not both be able to achieve their max)

    10 Newcastle 36 -1 44
    17 Wigan 36 -23 36
    18 Blackpool 35 -22 35
    19 Wolves 35 -23 34
    20 West Ham 36 -23 33

    So yeah we are guaranteed to finish above three teams. We are safe :)

    Ya, I dropped the ball with that, but I'm glad you got the point. Staying up, and beating them means more, when we're both going to finish midtable anyway

    Not only are we mathematically safe, we can't finish any lower than 16th, which means we've exceeded expectations as most people said they would have taken 17th at the start of the season :D
