One good thing I have only just noticed is that after cardiff's loss we can no longer finish bottom. For what little it's worth, I'd like to see us cement 18th.

Statistically it looks like odds of bouncing straight back up are around 25%, but increased by: (1) finishing 18th; and (2) number of years previously spent in the Premier League.

So yeah, yeah, statistics are meaningless yaddayadda, but I'd still prefer to be on the good odds side of a statistic than trying to be the exception...

That'll cement our status as a Championship club then, the board need to have ambition and they need to invest.

The next managerial appointment will probably decide where our club goes for the next 5 years, it is a massive appointment to make.

If it were me, I would pull out the stops to get Rosler here if Wigan fail to go up.

Yes each place is worth 1.2million so we should be getting around £65million if we are 18th. Parachutes of 60 million for 4years. Sell some players to get some more cash but keys hope it is invested in the right players as a lot of this shower need shipping out!

I don't see any reason to take the risk with Adams, we would just be asking for trouble.

I agree Carra but they did not take the risk with Hughton and then took an almighty risk sacking him ludicrously with 5 games to go. I have no faith in the boards decision making at the moment and can only see them "giving Neil a chance". He has been making sounds about wanting the chance and that usually means getting the job. I might be wrong but will be surprised if they do go for someone else.

I'm inclined to think they will go elsewhere. I think Adams only got the job as it was a last minute thing. If Hughton had gone in January I don't think Adams would have been put in charge.

I agree, they need to sit back and make the right decision, it's a business and there is no room for sentiment, certain members of the board worry me, I have seen our club get this decision wrong on so many occasions, I dread it being someone like Mackay or Steve Clarke.

Without holding a UEFA Pro licence he couldn't manage for more than 12 weeks in the PL so he could only have got the job in Jan on a temporary basis.

Personally I don't want Adams. We need someone completely new, with no links at all to the current squad. It's a mess and it needs sorting out, and a fresh, unbiased eye is essential.

I don't want Malky. Defensive and limited. Just Hughton Mark II.

Not keen on Lennon either, although I don't think he will consider us anyway now that we are not Prem.

I hope we go for someone exciting and not one of the same old horses from the same old merry-go-round. After such a disastrous season, we need someone inspirational to make a bunch of decent players believe in themselves again.

Excellent post VC and couldn't agree more. <ok>

Shame to see you guys relegated. As a Saints fan our path as mirrored the Canaries over the last 5 years, hopefully that trend is broken next season!!!

Think Malky Mackay would be a good appointment for you, would seem you need to get rid of a lot of dead wood in your squad and he would be the man to do that
