Gus Poyet, the Black Cats' manager, wants to bring QPRâs fit-again striker Andrew Johnson in on loan to solve his goal-scoring problems. And the Uruguayan is set to allow winger Adam Johnson to leave, despite his stunning hat-trick against Fulham on Saturday and his starring role as sub in Sunderlandâs Capital One Cup defeat of Manchester United in midweek. Well that must be the worst bit of journalism I've read for a while. Who pays to read that made up drivel
How about a swap: AJ, SWP, BZ, Hoilett, Cesar, Diakite, Luke Young for Andrew Johnson & Connor Wickham
If QPR and Sunderland want to compare Johnsons, you'd find Sunderland's is fresher, more vibrant and upright just now, whereas the Rs' is limp and possibly infected. I would happily cherish Sunderland's Johnson, whereas ours needs regular examination by the M.O.
I actually think a fit AJ is a very good player at this level. A dedicated pro, who does a lot of running for the team, and sometimes has his work go unnoticed. I'd be interested to see him play on one of the wings, considering how much he works the channels when he plays up top. But, sadly, he is so injury prone that the above is almost irrelevant.
We usually look better with Johnson on the field. He is very good at dragging the defenders around and still getting in behind them. I'd like him to stay for the rest of the season.
Definitely, if he was to stay injury free. Hugely frustrating though when is so regularly unavailable through injury. I would let him go if we get reinforcements. Can't be relied on.
Completely agree...which is why the article is nonsense. Sunderland would be mad to take him on. If they are searching the lower divisions for a striker, and have come up with Johnson top of the list, they need new scouts more than a new striker.
Get rid of ASAP..If they are stupid enough to take him then we are quids in ! Credit where its due, he does do a lot of work (when he actuallu plays) but his past 3-4 seasons have been shocking... Send him to Sunderland and get someone else in...Poyet really going down in my estimations..
Can't see this ever happening. Did anyone see Connor Wickham's performance for Sheff Wed v Leeds yesterday. That's the kind of player they should be going for.
Said before the season started that he was someone who we should be in for, think we really missed out on not going for.
